Ok, for the last 4 days now Finley seems to be constantly straining to do a bm.
On Monday I took him to the Dr, as he was doing it pretty much all day as it was worrying me.
The Dr seemed to think that as he was constipated last week and had very hard poos, he had a small tear in his bum and that meant he now didn't want to go so was stopping himself.
Ok so since Monday he has had lactulose as prescribed and has had at least 1 if not two soft poos a day which is all good.
But the straining continues, it varies, this afternoon as soon as I lie him down on the floor he just strains and his face goes all red, but i'm sure he doesn't need to go, he carries on doing this for ages.
Also he is just not his happy self, to add to the problems I really think his teeth are annoying him, he is chewing very hard on anything he can, so don't know if his unhappyness is teeth or this weird straining thing.
Confused

Hmmm. Can boys get urine infections?
Have you ever had one yourself Fi? It feels like you always need to pee. When I have had them, I have sat on the loo in misery, doing nothing, for ages.
Maybe he is trying to do weazles (ok, that's our word for them!) instead of poo?
Just a thought. It does seem strange for him to be straining like that.
Any wind issues?

boys can get UTIs Jayden got one and ended up in hospital with it, they get a temp too with it
Jayden strains and strains sometimes and nothing - is he formula fed? we changed and he got really windy and constipated so have changed back - maybe something in his diet or yours if BF?

Can try using liquid paraffin with the lactulose - helped with my boys when they were constipated. Liquid paraffin lubricates to help anything slide out easier.
