Can you guys tell me how early you can find out if it is a boy or a girl.
I went for a scan on 5 weeks for the first time. The doctor sent me for a dating scan as my last couple of periods was so irregular. and they could only see a gest sac, no yolk sac or anything. I was so stressed about cause all of the sites I went to said that it should be there by 5 weeks. I went for another scan Monday and was dated at just short of 7 weeks and we saw the little heart beating away...so it is all happy and on track. |

We were told what we were having at the 20 week scan but a friend got a good look at the 12 week one, had another friend thats baby was way to modist and even at 22 weeks they couldnt see what sex baby was. does depend on how the baby is placed when you have the scan but I think they usually say they can tell from about 18 weeks on. ------------- TTC since 06 with MFI IVF with ICSI 2007 BFN DI Sept 08=BFP DS 06/09 TTC #2 since June 2010 DI#2 Aug10=BFP MC@10weeks 2011= 10 rounds of DI 4 with clomid- all neg May 2012- IVF |

Our sonographer said she would take a guess at the 12 week scan but that that was all it was, a guess. However when she pointed out to us what she thought were little boys bits it looked even obvious to me and she was right as it was confirmed at our anatomy scan at 20 weeks that we are having a boy  I'm fairly certain you can tell from about 16 weeks providing like Caronz said that Bub is in a cooperating mood. But there would be no reason for you to have a scan then if you have a healthy normal pregnancy as they won't just do a scan for gender identification so you would have to wait until your anatomy scan.

we got told it was a boy at the 12 week nuchal scan but when i said that to the lady who did my 20 week she was quite angry and said they shouldnt be telling people becuase it is so often wrong. apparently she tells people what they are have all the time and quite often get 'thats not what the other person said at 12 weeks' they were right with us but if you do find out id suggest not buying stuff till 20 weeks just in case -------------

I had a scan at 18 weeks and we saw very clearly she was def a girl, and was confirmed 3 weeks later when we had a repeat scan. ------------- Brandon - 05/12/2003

I found out the girls sex at 18 weeks although the lady doing my scan told me that was a little early. I think you can tell earlier than that but they tell you later to cover their butts in case they're wrong. -------------

Our sonographer could see at 19 weeks but chose not to know! I dont think our baby is shy about flashing its bits cos every scan since at some point they look at me and say do you know what your having, to which i reply.. no but you do and they smile.
