Bit of background - Benji has had a cold for about a week and is on ABs but seems to be heaps better in that respect, now I just have this feeding problem...

Up until the last few days, Benji has been a dream feeder - he usually feeds for about 10-15 mins on each side, good hard, sucks. For the last few days he hasn't even taken one full side, he only sucks for a couple of minutes then pulls off and screams (sometimes he even screams BEFORE I even try and latch him )

I have been expressing (for obvious reasons) while he hasn't been feeding properly, but he hasn't even wanted it in a bottle, so I have taken to syringing it in. I'm not too worried about dehydration as he's getting enough that he's still getting plenty of wet nappies, but my main concern is, when is my dream little feeder coming back? And is this going to affect my supply? Is it a feeding strike? I would have thought he was too young for that? Do you think its the ABs upsetting his tummy?

I'm at my wits end!!

Anyone else had this?

I'd hope its just cos he is feeling sick.  Keep doing what your doing and I;m sure he will come back...and you will have a great supply of EBM

If he is congested he won't be able to breathe properly while feeding. I noticed this with both my babies. Have you tried a little bit of saline solution squirted into his nose about 10minutes before you feed? It helps dry up the mucus and they generally feed a little better. I think he will come right once the cold is gone.

I just saw this post and wanted to check in and see how Benji was going now, Shell?  I hope he's recovered from his cold, and is back to his efficient feeding again!
