My girl has her hands wrapped up in a little sheet/blankie thing, and sometimes sucks/chews on them when going to sleep (normally while crying!). The last few times she has ended up with blood on her hands. It seems to be coming from her upper gum. She has no signs of teething - no dribbling, red cheeks, white patches on gums - and she's only 4.5mths old. But should I let her keep sucking her hands & making her gums bleed, or should I stop her?

Sorry I have no real advice as I've never had this but maybe call the plunket line and ask one of the nurses? Any signs of blood would worry me but if its not directly upsetting her I'd use plunket line before a doctor.
