I've been getting really bad heartburn most evenings recently. What can we take to ease the pain!? Is there anything natural we can drink/eat/do to soothe it?

Try eating pineapple or raw almonds.

Or also papaya enzyme tablets from a health store are pretty good too!

I tried lots of things as I got it every night later in the pgcy to the point of vomiting and the only thing that I found relieved the burn was Titralac (Sp?) Ant-Acids from the chemist.

2 things I've heard people swear by are beer  (perhaps in a very diluted shandy) and sugar-free gum.

I haven't tried either (haven't needed to...yet) so I can't personally vouch for them, but they ideas came from people who have had several pregnancies and swore by them.

Stay away from fatty foods as the stomach needs to produce more acid to break down the fats. I thought eating ice cream or having a glass of milk would help neutralise the acid but it did the exact opposite and would have me up half the night.

Chewable gaviscon tablets are what I seemed to live on, only thing I found that helped. I know even the tiniest bit of choc made it much worse, and dairy products did too.

I find milk doesn't really help me Even though we get light blue or green top milk...

Pineapple?? Really!? I would have thought the citrus-zang-ness wouldn't help at all! I'm willing to try anything though
