i realise i still probably still have 10 weeks to go at least but because i am going to be at uni until my due date i want to be really organised now and my brain is a bit fuzz. so anyway, what needs to be done before bubs is born.

bedroom decorated with major furniture - change table, cot, hammock. - Hammock made up ready to go

bag packed

birthplan written

clothes washed and in drawers

what am i missing. it all seems a bot simple and im sure there must be loads that needs doing to bring a baby home

*Stock up on essential grocery stuff as you won't want to be doing the shopping after being up all night!

*Make sure there's some easy meals in the house - frozen meals, soups (get the special ones with lots of veggies in), packets of biscuits for all the guests.

*Take some time out to just be a couple, it's the last chance you'll hav in a while! Go to a movie, or dinner etc

Yeah, what Flutterby said! I've also bumped a thread in the "First Baby..." section about what sort of stuff you need to stock up on (it's called "Question for New Mums" or something like that)

Buy wipes and lotion and nappies if using sposies when they are on special.

Get capsule, or make sure its clean if you already have one.

what were peoples DH's doing during this time. he does all the housework and cooking and washing etc... when i work late or if im sick so i just figured he would do the extra washing and cooking meals and stuff till i got back on my feet. i asked him bout it and he said of course he would be looking after the house while im not functioning like a human. are we being unrealsitic? he is taking 3 weeks off work which is probably more than most but we always assumed he would carry on as normal (albeit a wee bit tired) and i would focus on bubs till i had to be back at uni

My DH was working and only had 2 days off after no 2 was born, but I had my mum around for a week or so. DH did some cleaning and cooking but we just stayed as we were pretty much. DH slept in the spare room for a month so only 1 of us was wrecked if baby had a crappy night. (which only happened a couple of times)
