Just wondering if anyone is experiencing back pain post pregnancy. I find i get really bad pain particularly when i wake up in the morning (i feel as stiff as a board!) - and trying to roll over isnt the nicest!
I wore a belly belt towards the end of my pregnancy due to higher back pain. My little boy is 4 months old now and a heavier wee thing so that probably isnt helping. Does a caeserean have any impact?? Interested in anyone elses thoughts on this... |

I had back pain for up to one year after having DD. I believe my pain was because I had a posterior baby during labour and all the pain during child birth was in my back, particularly my tail bone.

| My baby was posterior as well!! (i forgot about that till you mentioned it!) That could well be the problem... is there anything that you could recommend to relieve the pain? i dont know if maybe i should get a new bed or something.... |

Having a caesarean can mean that your tummy muscles are weaker now then they were before, and lack of that core support can lead to back pain. Also if you had an epidural some woman have a niggly back on and off for some months after. ------------- http://www.babysfirstsite.com">

I just put up with it, I figure its all part of life after having babies (along with the saggy boobs etc)

Ive had heaps of back pain after both babies, being pregnant moves everything around in there. In the end I went to see an osteopath (they are a bit gentler than chriopractors) and that helped a lot.
If you are co-sleeping with bubs tucked up on your arm then that will cause a bit of pain too, its a lovely cuddle but not great for your back. |

I had a posteria bubs too and I suffer from lower back pain. Can't offer any solutions as I've found none but am looking into a Chiro as I have heard they are good. Just not sure where in Auckland to go? ------------- http://lilypie.com">

The only back pain I have is where they inserted the epidural line. It took them quite a while to get it in.

Yea i had back pain after my second bub and got acc to pay for osteo fees I had c-sec, epi & mal presented baby also.------------- Mummy of Two Boys B: 2004 K: 2007 |

I've just gone to the doctor about my bad back, mine due to carrying twins & all my weight was at the front as well as being on bedrest from 18wks so no excersice & now I'm trying to lug around 2 heavy ones.
The Doc said go to the Physio saying you pinched a nerve or something taking your bubs out of the carseat so you can get free care & claim it on ACC.... that will happen when I get a moment to go to the physio but am looking forward to a bit of relief. I feel like an old women being so stiff int he back. ------------- 3yr old gorgeous ID twin boys. |

i had the same problems, mind you i was feeding the boys in bed and found i was absolutely stiff and in pain by morning. I went to the physio and she worked on my back for a few weeks, its better now, but man does it hurt somedays! -------------

ive got back/pelvic pain too- esp in the mornings or when ive been sitting leaning to one side. it was really bad post birth and 9weeks on its eased a little. i find sleeping with a soft pillow under my hip area helps alot! baby was posterior too......my first was also posterior but i was fine post birth ------------- http://www.baby-gaga.com/">

I had back pain for months after DS was born.
I thught it was from picking him up all the time. I finally went to physio who referred me to a muscular skeletel doctor. One side of my pelvis was higher than the other! It can be common after ventouse/forceps delivery (which I had). He manipulated it back into place (wasn't as bad as it sounds), and I walked out of there with no pain in my back and haven't had since then - amazing!! ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I recommend cranial-sacral therapy for back pain - I suffered a lot of back pain during the 3rd trimester and during the birth all the pain from each contraction centred in one spot in my lower back (weird!). After the birth it was OK for a while but got worse as DS grew and became heavier to lug around lol. Since having the therapy my back has been great - was kicking myself for not doing anything about it earlier (orginated from a horse riding accident 5 years ago). |
