Are Quick eze ok to take?
I don't ever remember getting heartburn before but when I woke last night to Jack I had a really hot burning feeling in my oesophagus. We had some Gaviscon in the cupboard but it said not to take directly before sleeping and not to lie down straight away, as it was about 1am that was not an option. I had half a quick eze and it went away. It didn't say anything on the packet but as it came in my Bounty pack I assumed it was ok. If it happens again can I take more? ------------- Lindsey

My MW told me i can take gaviscon or quikeze whenever i have heartburn. and i think there is a few others you can take like mylanta dual action (something like that). cant remember the names. but yup gaviscon and quickeze are all good to take

I got a thing of quickeze in my pack at my first mw appointment , so Im guessing they are fine to take .
Personally I wouldnt , yuck , would much rather take titralac myself -------------

It actually wasn't too bad and did the trick although I only had half a chewy tablet. Wonder why you can't lie down after taking Gaviscon ------------- Lindsey

I'll tell you why (I tried it) - because it comes straight back up your throat when you lie down  So instead of just acid reflux you get gaviscon reflux lol.
My midwife recommended titrolac and gave me a prescription for it - I think lots of the others contain something which can inhibit your iron absorption if you take them too close to eating. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

I found i could take gaviscon in the middle of the night and lie back down straight away. But have changed to titralac as its easier to take in the middle of the night lol (gaviscon was liquid)......i wish i'd started titralac months ago! ------------- http://lilypie.com">

My midwife (who is also an RN for what tha'ts worth) said NO to Quikeze because I am low in iron. So if that is a problem for you I would say not to take it.
As several others have mentioned, she recommended titrilac (sp???) so I'd use that. Good luck - it's yuck! |

im extremely olow in iron but quickze or any others doesnt make a difference..........i also take it directly then lie down and it doesnt affect me but yeah the reason is that it does come back on you.......casue it needs to absorb and coat your lining and when you lie down its like keeping it in your throat...........if you get my point :) but everyone is different and it depends how bad you are............i was in heaps of pain the first time but this time its mild enough to take and chew away then lye down. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">
