We have one of the entry level Phillips ones. It has lasted quite a few years and is easy to use as well as cart around. (Sometimes we take it on holidays but other times I'll take the parent unit outside and do some gardening.) I never felt the need for a sensor pad, if I think the baby is sleeping too long I just go check - laying a finger across the top lip to feel baby's breath is the easiest way.

We have the Angelcare. It's not the digital model, just the standard one with sensor pads.
Honestly I can't say enough about this - it has kept me sane on many a night as a neurotic mother. It has an alarm that goes off if the baby stops breathing, and in the first year it saved Samantha's life twice. I love it so much I still haven't had the courage to take it off her cot

LOVE my angelcare sound and movement and wouldn't be without it. Got mine second hand off TM for about $60 or $80 and is some of the best money I ever spent. Totally recommend it

WE just have a phillips one for when we are at friends places. I figure if he wants me around home that I"ll hear him. It isn'ta monitor for breathing but I was okay with that because he wasn't a high risk baby for sids. Maybe i"m just too laid back about the sids thing but I only would have got a sensor if he'd been early or sickly.

We have a tommee tipee one and it is really good but for $20 more the angel care one has two movement pads instead of one so the baby is less likely to roll off it and trigger the alarm.

So even though I'm well stoked with tommee tipee I think you get better value for money with Angelcare.
