Hi we use prefolds and covers with our DS and they've been working really well, just recently he has started leaking (sposies and MCNs) and the nappy is soaked so I think he needs to go up to the next size, the problem is that the meduim nappies are huge and I don't really want to use them yet, what else can I use with the nappy to boost it? Also what can I put on top of the nappy to draw the mositure away as he does really feel the wetness and it wakes him up.
Thanks

How long before he leaks?

Depends, maybe 2 hours, but he seems to be a heavier wetter now than he was 2 weeks ago. and when he's using a sposie overnight he will leak through within 3-4 hours. I'm now using a bigger size overnight and he isn't leaking thank goodness

Wow thats impressive!!!  Ithink it was around that age that I stopped using prefolds ( I dont think they are as effective on little boys as girls)  I started using pockets and adding a mixture of microfibre and hemp...if I remember right ( I'm about to go through it all again so I am sure my memory will be jogged soon).

also, different brands of sposies work for different people.  We have always had success with huggies but others havent so its a bit of trial and error.

Maybe try adding some hemp or bamboo under the prefold for added absorbancy and micro fleece on top to pull the moisture away.

Good luck, babies are crazy just as you have them all sorted out they go and change everything

We used to fold two prefolds together and then use a microfiber liner over the top to keep the wetness away (got them from TradeMe but you could just buy some microfiber and cut out your own ones - would be cheaper).

DS quickly became a much heavy wetter and we moved onto fitteds and AIOs when he was about 3 months old.

Might have to look into pockets and AIOs methinks cause the next size up prefold is too big for him at this point, sucky cause we ended up buying the whole system from newborn to potty cause they worked so well, I'm sure I can use them when he gets a bit bigger and when we have a girl. Though I might get some boosters first to see.

Thanks

not sure how you use your prefolds but if you snappie them you can fold up the bottom half of the bigger size one before you put it on...   or i would say something like the snazzipants boosters would be good, cause they have the stay dry liner...
