My 8 week old son is sleeping well at night but the last week or so stirs and fusses at 5am - which is not normal. I get him up and he's only interested in stretching and doing 'baby yoga', a 5 minute feed (a snack feed) and falls asleep again.

Since he's clearly not hungry I'm thinking he's either over the swaddle (miracle blanket, no arms escape from it) or the hammock is perhaps not supportive enough?

We're going to try a few things to sort this out but has anyone else had this experience?

Caden only ever napped in his hammock, he was in his bassinet until 2 months old, then the cot.

He might just be going through a fussy stage, might not have anything to do with the hammock. Maybe try him in the cot or bassinet swaddled for a night or two and see how he goes, or just put him in a wedge(in the cot or bassinet) un swaddled and see if he likes that better.
Caden would always wake up and have a big stretch after he had been swaddled all night.
