So i thought there was an old topic on this but couldn't find it..... What are peoples experiences with movements during labour etc? i can't really remember what V did. i'm pretty sure he had gotten REALLY quiet nearer the end. That's what DH remembers too. Is it common for bubs to move during early labour? or should i just keep ignoring the contractions?

Morning, I dont think any of my babys moved heaps during labour, I felt the odd swoop and or movement after some contractions and to be quite honest I dont really remember coz I was so focused on getting thru each contraction. Id say it is normal for bubs to be quiet...Sorry im not much help...

thanks, i figured it woudl be normal to be quiet, but i get the odd movement after a contraction too, & wondered if maybe it means they really aren't doing anything like i'd hoped

Both of mine were still wriggling a bit during early labour. I remember thinking that Ella must not like the contractions because she'd give me a bit of a boot after them like she was protesting
Hope this is the start of things for you chick! Good luck!

Ooooh exciting Chonny! Have been wondering how you were getting on!

All of mine moved during labour, Chiara had a big stamp around when my m/w broke my waters, Toni commented that it was like she was annoyed someone had let the waters out on her spa pool!

lol emma, yea still hanging in here, sadly, he keeps getting the hiccups today & has been grating against the cervix (well that's what it feels like anyways) but other than that, no regular contractions, in fact the ones from this am seem to have gone, just like i had expected.

Andrew was quiet but Josh wasn't - he was active during labour.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

LOL that's coz there's nothing like a subsequent pregnancy to remind you how awful the last one was!

More hugs! Next time I see you at music you'll be without bump and with baby

for an induction don't you have to be in the hospital? We haven't discussed it yet, after all, i'm not full term yet. I think if i went for an induction, i wouldn't get my home water birth

Why are you getting S&S at just 38 weeks?
Yea they do usually go quiet but of course if your baby needs to wriggle into place before labour establishes, that might be what is going on.

i have an irritable uterus busymum & have been having BH since 23weeks. Also, my midwife offers it for subsequent mothers. i had my first s&s on Tuesday this week, & then yea, another two next week. Gotta see if it works........ I'm hoping the one on Monday does. she ddn't think i was overly ready down there when she did it this week. Oh yea, started having contractions last wednesday so she did internal & said she'd do s&s this week.

What is a irritable uterus? Reason why im asking is coz I mentioned to my MW that I want to start EPO at the recommended time but she mentioned something about maybe getting a irritable uterus?????

I wish my MW would start giving me S&S's around 38 wks but no she always makes me wait for 40+ weeks..You'd think she'd just do them considering I've gone overdue with all 6 girls...

Best of luck for your labour chonny If nothing happens this weekend I hope mondays s&s gets you going...

thanks mumof72b, an irritable uterus is where it is contracting majority of the time. i get them pretty painful but i think some people don't realise. i was diagnosed with it last time as i was having so many pains. on the monitor i was only feeling one in ten contractions. i was only bout 25 or so weeks at the time. I must say, if you went over due with all 6girls, i'm very surprised they not offering it to you. my mw is great like that! I would have loved to be having htis baby by this weekend, but doubt things are going to happen. i guess we could always get a big surprise, but yes my fingers are crossed but legs open for monday's s&s
