I thought I had a cold coming on but today I'm pretty sure it's hayfever with the sneezes and that tired eye feeling.
I know you can't take antihistimines while pregnant so does anyone have any solutions to get this nose sorted out!?!

I get horrid hayfever and had a hard time when I was pregnant and BFing.  You can get things from the homeopathic but I didn't find them any good.

There were a couple of things I used while I was pregnant that did work, both are available from the chemist.

The first (and prob the best) was a sinus rinse.  It's basically a bottle in which you mix up a saline solution (packets come with the sinus rinse kit) then you squirt it through your nostrils to clear out any allergens that you've breathed in.  It sounds and looks worse than it is, it's actually pretty easy to use and really clears the sinuses.  You can use it once or twice per day.  I get really bad hayfever so I was using the strongest saline solution twice per day.

I also had a gel I think it was called hayfever med (not 100% sure though, it's a little white tube with green writing and a green first aid cross on it).  It's a completely natural formula which you rub into the nostril and it prevents you from breathing in allergens.

I still had trouble going places where my hayfever flares up (like my parents house in the country) but I have trouble there during hayfever months anyway, even when I take antihistamines.  So I avoided the worse places for my hayfever and used the sinus rinse and hayfever gel to keep my symptoms at bay.

Im not too sure if its safe to take during pregnancy but DH gets hayfever really bad and takes Blackmores Sinus and Hayfever Relief with Horseradish, Garlic and Vit C (orange label).

He really likes it and says it works much better than antihistimines. Ive read the label and it doesnt say anything about not taking during Pregnancy so I guess its ok but best to double check anyways.

I think you have to be careful with horseradish though. I had been taking similar tablets while I was tramping in May/June, and then I found out I actually conceived right then, so I immediately stopped it. Just can't remember if it may have only been the first 3 months that it wasn't safe.

Both my mw and pharmasist have told me it's ok to use my Alanase nosepray, especially since I'm past 3 months, because it doesn't really get into my bloodstream.

I had the same problem when preggars.I was taking horseradish and garlic tablets which were brilliant but soon as I found out I was pregnant the health food store said it wasnt safe to take them during pregnancy.I went to my GP and he said the only safe thing to use was the alanase spray so I got that and it worked pretty good.
