Im putting 3 week old Ava to sleep at night in a singlet, long sleeved all in one (cotton), and cotton nappy used as a wrap. Her bedding consists of 2 flannelette cotton sheets and 2 fleecy cotton blankets. Does that sound like too much? The room temperature seems on the chilly side but according to our Tommee Tippee monitor it averages 18 degrees c.

Sounds alright to me.
An easy way to check if they are too hot is to feel the back of their neck. If it is sweaty then take a layer off.
Also, my plunket nurse told me the rule of thumb with dressing babies is to put on one more layer than you would wear.

Hope that helps!

Sounds fine. You can feel her back to see if she feels too hot.

Sounds OK to me. We keep lil miss' room at around 20 degrees at night and she wears a short sleeved cotton dome under singlet, a cotton or merino gown and socks and then wrapped in her Miracle Blanket with one doubled over cotton blanket over her. She sleeps in a hammock tho which kind of cocoons her so she keeps nice and warm.

Yep sounds right to me, I just followed the rule of one more layer than I wear and that worked except for in the height of summer (as I don't parade around in my underwear all day but DS did ).
