| Im putting 3 week old Ava to sleep at night in a singlet, long sleeved all in one (cotton), and cotton nappy used as a wrap. Her bedding consists of 2 flannelette cotton sheets and 2 fleecy cotton blankets. Does that sound like too much? The room temperature seems on the chilly side but according to our Tommee Tippee monitor it averages 18 degrees c. |

Sounds alright to me.
An easy way to check if they are too hot is to feel the back of their neck. If it is sweaty then take a layer off. Also, my plunket nurse told me the rule of thumb with dressing babies is to put on one more layer than you would wear. Hope that helps! ------------- Mel, Mummy to E: 6, B: 4 and:

Sounds OK to me. We keep lil miss' room at around 20 degrees at night and she wears a short sleeved cotton dome under singlet, a cotton or merino gown and socks and then wrapped in her Miracle Blanket with one doubled over cotton blanket over her. She sleeps in a hammock tho which kind of cocoons her so she keeps nice and warm. ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)

Yep sounds right to me, I just followed the rule of one more layer than I wear and that worked except for in the height of summer (as I don't parade around in my underwear all day but DS did  ).
