My ittis are leaking.  They seem to be fitting well and they tend to leak out through the leg.  I think Tom is holding on and letting it all go at once which I imagine is hard for any nappy to cope with.  Any suggestions?

The bamboo needs quite a few washes to reach full absorbency. I have had a couple of other customers experience leaking and the nappies have improved with more washing.

Also if you are using the SIO's make sure you pull the nappy out and up when putting on so the inserts don't all bunch up - as this could cause leaking too.

Some people find them really absorbent from the first use, and others find they improve more after more washing.

Let me know if you continue to have problems, or is it just one nappy in particular? Haven't you posted about leaking issues before?

Also my itti leaked the first 3 times Rowan wore it and I noticed even though she was just in the weight range and had fat little legs there was a gape in the side. But now she's further in the weight range they fit and work really well.

yeah karyn, we had leaking issues before but I thought that was because he has gotten a bit big for his medium.  The annoying thing is I can go to change his nappy (say 3hrs on) and its bone dry.  15min later he has soaked all his clothes so I think he is just hanging on and then drenching the poor nappy.  There is a tiny gap under his leg but I do do them up on the tightest (without cross over) and that leaves a mark on his outer thigh and waist so I dont think I want to go tighter.  Hopefully they will improve with washes.  I dont know which ones have been washed how many times at the mo so it could be some of the newer ones that are leaking.  Its not too bad...I just have to be more prepared with changes of clothes etc.

I had another customer that used a cover over hers for the first couple of weeks. I don't know why, but sometimes the bamboo needs wearing in alot more for some than others, and it could be as you say ..... if he wees a large volume all at once, the bamboo might just not be worn in enough to cope with such a large amount of wet.

I would expect them to just keep on improving, but let us know how you get on

Same issues with Jack here. I've tried boosting them but it didn't work. I think they are just too narrow for him and so when he holds on like he does theres no way the nappy can absorb it all. Sewn ins hold a bit better but atill not really worth the effort and I have enough clothes to change with him TT. Hopefully yours just need a bit more washing. Caprece can pretty much go all night in one
