hello, has anyone had brown blood (quite dark too) the day after going to the obstetrician and she did her checks etc down there It started yesterday and only when I wipe but not everytime I go to the loo.

Should I be calling my ob?

It doesn't sound like anything to worry about - usually it's fresh blood that gets them worried - but I would definitely give them a call, if for no other reason than for your own peace of mind! That's what they're there for (thank goodness!)

I think I had it at a similar stage and my mw said that it was quite normal and nothing to get worried about, but to keep an eye on it cuz if anything changed she'd need to know.

All the best!

I hear what you're saying - I had a mc at nearly 11wks last year and that was enough to get me paranoid about anything remotely like it this time around! Must've been really hard for you, esp since you made it as far as 16wks.

Have you had many scans this time around? I had them at 6,8&14wks - so I'd picture seeing the heartbeat in from the later 2 scans whenever I started worrying - it helped to keep me sane!

Peace of mind is always the best port of call. Let us know how you go

The ob does a quick scan every appt so saw the bub and heart beat on thurs afternoon so all good, have the anatomy scan coming on Thurs as well and scans at 7 & 14 weeks so the little one is hanging around but yeah after mc i won't feel better till 40weeks and bub is here (which seems like a lifetime away ) but your idea of picturing the heartbeat might help me too

Had nothing today so just taking it easy and making DP go and do the shopping by himself lol X

hello, just a quick update, I did end up calling and brown blood discharge at this stage of pregnancy after an internal examination is common but they obviously are worried if it changes to red blood.. so always call just to be on the safe side and especially if it turns to red blood, period like pains and there are clots etc

Have felt the little one moving around alot so I take that as a good sign and have had nothing since yesterday morning

Stoked to hear that It's always good to hear what we 'think' we already know in the words of the experts - somehow it makes it so much easier to relax!
