So little Ava slept in her cot last night! yay!.
On it, i had 1 x flanelette sheet and a cotton fleecy blanket doubled over. She was in a singlet and growsuit with a wrap over top. Is that abou right for this time of year in Auckland. Her hands just seemed alittle cold but i dont want to overheat her.

Yay! Go Ava.
Sounds pretty good to me, we have a flanelett sheet and a woolen blanket, as well as having her in a sleeping bag and safety sleep.
Are here hands wrapped? sounds slightly strange that they are still cold??

That sounds ok but it depends on the room temp. Daniel always woke with cold hands. So long as their torso, especially their back is nice and warm it should be fine

We have 1 arm out of the wrap (our midwife suggested it) and her hand gets a little cold, but her chest seems OK when i check it.

Thomas just sleeps with 1 sheet and a cotton blanket. He's a warm baby anyway. We used to wrap him but he hates that as he likes to have his arms free. They say that you give the baby one more layer than we'd have, but I tried that and Thomas got too hot! Dont worry about Ava having cold hands - like the others said as long as her body is warm you'll be fine!

We wrap DS but not his hands, safety sleep, flannel sheet, cotton blanket and woollen blanket. Because DS won't put his arms under the blanket his whole arms/shoulders are exposed. (armpits up).

I use to worry with DS getting cold but I asked my Plunket nurse and midwife and as long as his chest and body is warm as the others advised, all is ok.
