To stay awake.
Joy usually has 2 sleeps every day...about 10am and again at 3 pm. She usually sleeps for about 2 hours and is up for 3 hours at a time. At the end of 3 hours she is rubbing her eyes like they will pop out the back of her head. So off to bed she goes only to play like crazy and she doesn't go to sleep. If I put her to bed any earlier (at first sign of tiredness) she does the same thing - plays and keeps herself awake talking and pulling down her mobile etc. She is always swaddled but performs some kin of baby aerobics to get out of it. It's been like this the past two days and I am losing my patience....FAST.....Help!!!

I'd get rid of the mobile for a start, and any other toy like things that are in the cot so its really boring lol. If I had anything like that in Daniels cot he would do the same thing

Maybe she is ready to go to one sleep. I would try keeping her up longer in the morning then an early lunch and put into bed about 12ish, that's what we did with Spencer and it's working a treat, he normally has at least 2 hours in the afternoon.

mmmm, was thinking about that....only problem there is I'm not sure I'm ready for that
She gets sooo grizzly as it is now...keeping her up for longer might get her overtired???

have you tried instead of putting her down right at ten to maybe offer her a snack to help fill in maybe even half an hour so she gets so tired she just goes off? Of course you don't want here to get too over tired, but maybe an extra half hour to an hour up might help? Have you also thought about perhaps cutting the sleep to 1 1/2 hours instead of two?

I would get rid of things out of the cot that she can get her hands on. And then start delaying that morning sleep as I think she is getting ready for one now. Josh is going down between 11.45 and 12.30 during the day and sleeping for 2 hours. he then goes to bed for the night between 5.30 and 6pm.

We go through a mini night time routine before day naps ie close curtains, read story, sing, swaddle, then put down etc. I would also be inclined to maybe delay or perhaps bring forward the nap by half hour. Once they get overtired it makes it harder for them to fall asleep

My lil boy (almost 14mnths) still has 2 day sleeps. 1st at 8.30am for a hour, 2nd at 1.30pm for 2hrs & bed for the night at 7pm

Her morning tea is a bottle at 9.30 ish as part of her going to sleep routine...then we have a story, swaddle and bed. This is the same for all her sleeps. Except for the big nighttime sleep where we add a bath.
We tried putting her to bed at 11am today and she woke half an hour later with a dirty nappy then she woke again at 1pm.

Mummy becks what time does Joshua wake in the morning after going to bed at 5.30/6?
