Hi, I have my first appointment there at 1.30pm today. I am mostly excited but a little bit nervous. If anyone can fill me in on what I can expect at a first appointment that would be really cool
TIA

Hi Emmecat!

Well, I'm home now and have PCOS and some provera and clomid so that's hopefully going to start the ball rolling for us.

Anyway... DH surprised me and took the afternoon off so he could come too
It was very quiet in the waiting room. I saw a really nice doctor, and she asked me some questions, just about history stuff. She asked DH some too which was cool. I showed her my charts (I'd printed them out, and also the printouts of my blood tests results for the last few weeks) and then she said I was going to have a scan. I did not expect it to be that kind of a scan Ha ha. If I'd known that I would have got waxed a week early lol. It wasn't that bad, and the doctor was lovely.

I'm so glad I went, and really happy DH came too

Onwards and upwards

Wow funlvn that's a pretty full on afternoon you guys have had!!

Mmmmm nice scans those ones hey lol about the waxing  IKWYM!!!

Sounds like you guys have well and truely got the ball rolling, so I fully expect a BFP from you shortly! Yay!

Thanks heaps for letting me know what to expect shoud DP and I decide to go down that path....I was looking through my charts today and have decided if we're not pg by the New Year then we will def pursue F.A. My first few charts were a bit dodgy as I didn't know what I was doing and consequently out timing for BD was waaaay out lol. And since my m/c there's been at least 2 months when we've actively tried *not* to get pg so hopefully there's not a huge problem....hmmm

Anyway, you must be feeling pretty excited about getting sorted. Well done you!

Great news funlvn that you're on clomid now, hopefully you'll get your BFP in the next few cycles - and that those cycles are much shorter (will the clomid fix that?).

I know what your mean about the waxing, I thought the exact same thing after my appointment!! Good that they get straight onto it and get you diagnosed in the first appointment though. Do they bring on your first period so you can start the clomid straight away or are you waiting for your next cycle?

Lol. I think its great news too.
The provera will bring on af and then I can start clomid on day 2. The doctor said we were well past the waiting stage, which is cool cause I wouldn't want to be waiting indefinitely. (read day 81 here lol).
I don't know if clomid will shorten cycles. I guess it would. There is a lot of blood tests and some more scans during this cycle (when it starts). So they will be watching for signs of ovulation (as in they will tell us when to BD lol) and then check to see that ovulation actually happened.
I googled a bit last night, and 25mg seems to be quite a low dose, but I guess they're just testing how my body will respond.

And no worries Emmecat. Hopefully you won't need to come down this path too

Thanks

Welcome
BD - can't remember what it stands for but it means have sex lol
Provera - I think its just progesterone (a hormone pill). I'm using it to bring on af, but I think its used for stopping bleeding sometimes too. Don't really know how it works.
Clomid is an ovulation induction drug, used to aid ovulation in those who don't ovulate regularly, if at all.

I think! I'm very new to this side of things too, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong people

Esther you did good with explaining that. Provera is a progestrone drug that can induce bleeding or stop it. I have used it a number of times to stop the bleeding as I get too much of it.

Has the Provera done anything yet Esther??

No, I only started on Monday night though so not sure how long it will take. Apparently its different for everyone.
I did wonder yesterday whether provera has side effects cause ma, I felt so queasy! Could be completely unrelated though

Almostthere - any chance you can refer yourself? I was waiting to be referred and went to a free information seminar where I learned that anyone can refer themself, so we talked about it and decided that's what we'd do. I ticked the box to let them send a letter to my GP too so he knows what's going on.

Hi Ladies,
I seeRichard Fisher at Fertility Assoc, he is wonderful, I have mc twice and had a baby born sleeping. We went to see Richard and his team, they made us feel so welcome and gave us the much needed hope that everything was going to be ok.
6 week with Richards advice and help and now we are coming up 5 weeks pregnant.
I would recommend Fertility Assoc to anyone. It is expensive but at the end of the day can you put a price on getting that wee bundle of joy.
I wish you all the very best, maybe we will see each other in the waiing room.
