Has anyone tried or heard of anyone who has tried this?

http://www.lullabyconceptions.com/onlineshop/product_info.php?products_id=62

It's an at home sperm analysis test available. Might save DH some embarrassment if we get to that point?
It also might make me relax a bit if I know it's all ok?
What do you think?
The product reviews on the website are mixed. Maybe for the money it would be better to just tell DH to get over it.

Can men do a proper Drs SA at home now and then just drop it in to the lab straight away? Or do they actually have to "produce" the sample at the Drs?

oh all our poor DHs that have to do this!

mine had to 'submit a sample' a couple times poor guy, cos the first set of results were inconclusive for some reason. Second time round it showed he could father a whole town with no trouble, so it's definitely my bod holding us up lol!

so two mad dashes to the lab with the goods down either my shirt or his to keep it warm... that's my memory! kind of funny now but definitely not a great experience at the time.

if it could be done at home that would be fantastic wish we knew about that option way back when!

Hey Carriemumtobe, we just collected his sample at home, which takes all the pressure out of it, iykwim    Then I drove to town with it between my legs lol and just dropped it into Pathlab

Don't think my dh would have appreciated having to do it at the dr's office either

ETA: my doctor gave me the sample jars & also forms to give to the lab.

he he I think it's the run to the lab that's the worst bit! lol

being able to do the whole test at home would be so much better.

My DH offered to be tested seeing I seem to be fine but he too is struggling with the whole male ego thing. I am glad to hear that we can do it at home and then rush to the lab. I think that he may go if we are not pg this cycle. 6 months and counting.

Carrie - I don't know if I would trust the home tests. I would definately do it through the doc. I also totally understand that you will relax more once you know what you are dealling with, I feel the same way.

I saw some tests on TM too. But I figured we wouldn't spend $70 on it, because either way the dr would probably want "official" testing done anyway.

Yes I agree that a Dr would want an "official" test done anyway so better to save the money and just go to the Dr instead.
I feel better knowing that DH can "produce" the sample at home and then do the mad dash to the lab. I'm sure he'll be ok with that.
Thanks for your replies gals!

you get about an hour from him producing the sample, to getting it to the lab... we are onto SA #3 since Feb tomorrow.... DP just goes off to the bedroom and hides til its done lol... then shoves it into my hands, and IM the one who drives over to FA, and hands it in and rings for results etc... its very hard on their ego lol... whereas I am quite happy to sit there on a bed with a big wand up my fufu being pushed and twisted about....lol!

Arent men funny sometimes!

That is so true Babykatnz! Imagine if the men had to go through smears and internal ultrasounds!

Thats very handy to know about having an hour to get the sample to the lab.

I might be getting ahead of myself as we've really only been actively TTC for 3 months but I really have a deep down feeling that it's not going to be an easy ride for us.

DH calls me "Negative Nancy" but it's something I've just always thought for some reason.
