I bought a DesignerBums fitted nappy and cover of Angie and we put it on Oliver last night for the first time when he went to bed at 7pm. DH got him up for a dreamfeed at 10.30pm and even though I had told him the nappy was designed to last the entire night, what do you know..... he changed the nappy and put him in a disposable!
Arrrgggghhhhhh....

True - but he always does that feed - gives him some "Oliver" time. Just a little frustrating that he wasn't listening to me when I said the nappy should last all night....oh well it is now being washed and hopefully he won't forget next time.....

I think it's amazing that he thought to change the nappy! Don't knock him off at the knees just yet

Dear God! Give the guy a break! I've been trawling through threads recently and most of them involve women complaing their husbands/partners don't do anything, and here you are complaining when he does!!!!
Reallly, I'd delete this thread if you could... if too many other men read this, they'll just go "See, why bother doing anything if it's not appreciated?"
Oh yeah, and I'm a bloke, so I'm expecting a ribbing from this post!

I thought you were going to say he threw it in the wash and shrunk it or something. Knowing how some men work...he probably was on autopilot "must change nappy, must change nappy!"

Tim... no need for a ribbing. Thanks for the post.
TBH I think she was sorta joking... hence the wink in the first post
And also I have heard quite a few partners having issues with their partners accepting cloth. In my experience, it has been men - so I'm slightly inclined to roll my eyes when something like this happens.
And wouldn't you far rather we bitched on here rather than nagged men to their faces all the time? I know a post of exasperation at times allows me to not let things build up and get out of control.
'Tis all. (And sorry, it isn't all to do with this particular thread)

Hi Nikki, I did catch that wink too but, let's face it, if she wasn't at least a litte bit serious, why bother posting on here in the first place?
My wife is looking at cloth nappies at the moment - I can't quite understand how excited a woman can get about nappies, but then again, I'm sure she feels the same way when I look forward to a great new videogame! Anyway, I fully support the cloth nappy route... not least because the $$$ it will save me in the long run!
And, yeah, I guess you may be right about the bitching on here instead of nagging... but does it really work like that? Does the bitching replace the nagging, or is it as well as? Worth thinking about...
Hey, it's fun being one of the few blokes on a forum like this... I think it's necessary too!

I'd like to think it does... just don't ask my boyfriend for confirmation.
And yep. We like men. More should speak up and let us know when we are getting outta line! (Oh man, did I totally just open myself up there?)

Ha ha ha, don't worry, I'll go easy on you!
I agree, more men should speak out... but it's also a chicken and egg thing, they're only going to speak up more if they're taken seriously, and I'd have to suggest that people pay more attention to what women think than what men think when it comes to baby stuff!
Justified? Possibly... but hard to take for a bloke like me who genuinely enjoys this stuff, knows just as much about it as his wife, and is really, really looking forward to being a dad.
And I refuse to believe we're as rare as some women think! Just because your bloke doesn't yabber about it all the time, doesn't mean he's not as interested in it or isn't as excited as you. Trust me, that's how guys work...

Welllllll.... admittedly it is mostly women who are obsessed, but I never thought I'd get that fanatical about it either! You just wait

Well this post got an interesting response....
Definitely not complaining about him changing the nappy - think you are right he probably was in automatic mode.
Not sure about deleting the post Would even happily show it to DH who would not be offended in any way shape or form....he would think it was funny

Funny how a thread can randomly go off on tangents isn't it?

Sure is, and that is the fun thing about people and life. All about variety....
