What is the 'normal' range for temps? I've only been taking mine religiously for the last few days. The highest I've had was 36.1oC, and the last two days it has dipped (35.95 and now 35.85). Is that too low? Does it mean that I may be ovulating? I've got my fingers crossed for a rise in the next couple of days. Also had EWCM and now WCM so thinking I may have ov'd (had pain too). Just worried about the temps though?
Also, for those of you that have cycles (as I'm a newbie, have never had proper cycles or anything), do you usually ov on the same day each month? So therefore if I do have an actual cycle (eg get AF, then ov etc) this time around, should I expect to ov around about the same day?
Are there any other tell-tale signs that ov is on its way? How soon before ov does your CM change? We are trying for a girl as of late next month/early Sept (although will be happy with a boy too) but I guess in order to time it properly we need to know when I am supposed to ov.
Thanks, I hope some of this made sense and that someone can help me!

Are you temping orally or via your girly bits? If orally and you sleep with your mouth open this can have an affect on your temps. I found this out and now temp downstairs since then I find that my temps are fairly stable but still vary mid to high 36oC
Are you using Fertility Friend? If so, they will only confirm ovulation after 3 days of higher temps (following a dip). I'm not 100% sure but I think you ovulate on the day of the dip (that's what my charts do anyways and I also use an OPK test).
Everything I have read says that you "should" ovulate around the same time all the time - But I'm all over the place from CD14 to CD19
As for tell tale signs for ovulation I go by my temps and CM and also get particularly interested in BDing

Thanks Toni. I was told though that sleeping with your mouth open is fine? i temp orally
yep i'm using ff. is the day of the dip the first day or when it goes to its lowest point? i don't use opk's.
i went by cm last time i ov'd and conceived jack. i guess ill just have to wait and see on what day i ov and then we can get about making a girl.
oh and i apologise with the punctuation i have a very tired and grumpy teething boy on my lap lol

*waves* Hi Jackson
With my BBT thermometer I got a leaflet that showed all the different temp fluctuations around the mouth, so unless you temped on the exact same spot every morning your temps could all be inconsistent.
FF says the most accurate way of temping is vaginally.
After this cycle try temping via the other end and see how you get on
I think it's the first day of the dip then the immediate rise is when the egg is released (ovulation), but don't quote me on that! lol

Mine are often low 36's at the beginning of the month and sometimes even below 36 and then when I ovulate it tends to go 36.4 and then creeps up to the 36.7 range. But I think I might also sleep with my mouth open so do get a bit of a variance, but I seem to still have a clear shift.

I remember reading FF's lessons and Im sure it says that temps are a normal range between 35 to 37 degrees. I guess the big thing is to watch for a pattern, which you wont see until your next cycle.
As for the dip in temp, you should have a dip in temp on the day of ov but its not always an obvious dip (well mine wernt always), if that makes sense lol???!
My temps ranged from 36.0 before ov to the highest of 37.3 after ov and I think I slept with my mouth open sometimes

OK cool. Another question - can I change to temping vaginally now and just discard my oral readings? I really don't want to waste a whole cycle temping orally cos I don't know how long my cycles are or even if I'll get AF again.
I have been trying to put the thermometer in the same place. Man I didn't realise there would be such a difference in temp if you took it in different places though
And I thought having to wake up at 5am to temp was the hard part. I'm so confused!
