Just wondering what everyone was thinking of using as their baby's going home outfit from the hospital. I'm not sure- obviously i want her to look cute in photos but i want her to be comfortable more importantly!

We didn't bother too much with a special going home outfit. I personally didn't see the point. We just picked out an outfit that in our stash of clothes for him. It ended up being a nice knitted outfit

I found with Paris that i got something really special a really cute all in one suit- which of course - she ended up being far too long for - sent mike home to get something else and he picked out something huckery and old!
Ayja we got a cute outfit from tnt, made of polar fleece, the top was a little baby doll type top with long sleeves, and it had footed leggings. and my mum had made a cute pink hat and booties. I deliberately chose a 2-piece outfit - so that it didn't matter how long in the body she was - it would still fit her. I learnt from the 1st experience - I also learnt to take a few different ones just in case rather than let mike choose something again lol. Even though we'd had 2 scans confirm we were having a girl - i still took a cute little blue outfit for just in case!
I'd definately go for something simple, cross-over bodysuits are great then something nice and warm and cuddly over the top.

I bought Lauren a special coming home outfit which I changed her into about an hour before we left hospital. Within 5 mins of me putting it on her she powerchucked all down herself and I had to get her changed as she was covered in spew!
For the next baby I will just pop them in an all-in-one!!

My smallest all-in-one with booties, hat and shawl to wrap baby in. Actually my last baby was a summer one and I think I skipped the hat (bonnet) in favour of just wrapping her with her head covered.

If I knew what sex it was, I'd probably get something special but since I don't, it'll be a white-ish all in one with matching hat and a baby blanket that MIL made.

I don't know what sex my bubba is either so I'm making DH go out and buy something for bubs to wear home (when bubs and I are in hospital). I've been the baby-shopper while he just nods and smiles for me so it will be nice for baby to wear something daddy chose
I might use the knitted bonnet that DH wore home 30 years ago too

Keziah wore a gorgy pink outfit (pants, jacket, bodysuit and hat) we got from Pumpkin Patch (luckily it was prem as she was quite tiny as a newbie and nothing else fit her for quite a while)

We decided that it was my Mums job to buy the baby the going home outfit as we didn't know the sex, weight, length etc. Mum was soooo excited and once given the details and checking him out she then went shopping and found the cutest wee AIO.
It was a really good way of making her feel important etc and also meant w had a cute out fit for photos.
It may help those of you that don't know the sex etc.

We put Jack in a stretch and grow that my brother and SIL (Jack's Guardian Angels) gave us and the booties and hat my Mum knitted. Can't remember what we did about a cardy. He wore those clothes as they were special because they were given by family

Ella wore a cute little hoodie jacket and comfy pants on top of her undergarments, and tiny booties that my grandad had sent for her just before he passed away. The booties are framed next to her birth announcement now.

I love the idea of having both a blue and pink outfit ready and waiting - oh the anticipation of not knowing! Our baby will be a summer baby so won't need too many layers

I couldnt remember so had to go and dig out a picture.....it was all "star" themed, the little hat had silver stars on the lining and the fleece cardigan had silver stars embroidered on it too. We had a lovely pale blue blanket that someone gave us as a gift as well.

We brought Chiara home today in a white Mokopuna merino gown and matching hat, a pink Country Road cardie that my sister bought her and little hand crocheted booties that my parents bought for the gremlins in Portugal. We wrapped her in a pink velour Patch wrap and tucked the family heirloom christening shawl over the top. Pics in the gallery.
Gremlins came home in a white velour AIO I picked out especially.
Maya came home in a white Teeny Weeny gown, a hat and booties my great aunty knitted her and the same family heirloom christening shawl.

For our first we choose a little blue all in one suit for him to wear home. It was comfy for him, but it was my favourite out of all of his all in ones, so it was perfect. He also had a little jacket that was one of the few things that his dad picked out...he always called our son 'squirt' when I was pregnant with him, and then he came across a lovely baby jacket with 'little squirt' across it, and decided he would buy it (I wasn't even there! he shopped all alone, an amazing feat in itself lol).
I have kept both of these and put them into a little box along with a few other special things.

Hehe - we had a cute little ail for Ollie to wear home - but he never went to hospital because I ended up having him at home. I did have a 'first' outfit picked out (a white nightie given to him by friends) and that will go into his memory box once I've created one for him!
