Both Bella and I have rotovirus ...Bella's been spewing and had diarrhoea since Saturday, and I came down with it last night. Not as bad as her but spent most of last night with my head down the toilet! GP says just keep well hydrated...I feel like crap and I don't even have the energy to pick up Bella. Is there some wonderful cure??? All I can stomach are superwine biscuits and diluted OJ but is there anything else people would suggest...? And to top it off I have had a headcold for 2 weeks and am getting annoyed at not being able to breathe through my nose

Pity party over

Oh you poor thing. I got Rotavirus when I was about 12 weeks pregnant with DD2 and DD1 (about 12 months old at the time) had it too. It was horrible and I totally sympathise with you!

I found those juice ice blocks (jucies) were good for me, great for keeping up fluids. In the end the doctor gave me a shot to keep the nausea at bay because I just couldn't keep anything down. It will pass within a week I think (well, did for us) but until then it's not fun at all. Sorry, not much help other than to send you virtual hugs and hopes that it passes quickly.

You're preggo? I missed that one, congratulations!
I had gastro with both my pregnancies and was given the same advice as you, keeping hydrated is the most important thing.
Ice blocks are great if you can stomach them, really nice and gentle on a sensitive tummy.
Hope you're feeling better quickly!

i was working at wgtn hosp when it went around there. they said to stay away from cheese/milk/yoghurt etc... and it increases your chances of loseing it again (both ends and i found being sick last week bread was the only thing i could really stomach, but iceblocks are awesome too

I got it at 17 weeks with this one, thankfully my girls didn't get it so I didn't have to put up with them being sick as well. The only thing I found helped was lying in bed and pretending I was dying - ever the drama queen is me!

Sorry no good advice about the gastro from me either just exactly what the others said. I also had it when preggers with Lily.

I found that I had a really stuffy nose and blocked sinuses during both pregnancies which didn't subside much til sometime during the second trimester. Hope it is a head cold and it goes soon for you!

Oh and congrats!
