I think my water just broke!
Woke up to a gushing feeling, went loo and when I wiped there was lots of stuff, kinda pinky, but my midwife said that the waters can be kinda pinky. It also smells funny and Im sitting here with a pad cos its still coming out! At first I thought it was a show, but its too liquidy for that, so I think its my waters breaking..... Oh Holy.....  ------------- |

I just phoned back up midwife cos my midwife is sick. Poor lady has been up all night, delivered two babies! I feel so stink lol, Caden has fab timing doesnt he LOL She asked me how far apart my contractions are, they are about every 20mins or so at the moment so she said i have a long way to go yet ------------- |

I went from 4cm to fully dilated in just over an hour so don't get your hopes up for a fast labour but don't dismiss it either, make sure you're ready to leave at a mins notice and in the mean time *try* to relax - have a nice bath, some rasberry leaf tea full of honey and try and find something to occupy yourself with. Thoughts and prayers are with you and DF. -------------

i phoned my midwife at 7 to let her know my waters broke, poor lady has been up all night! she delivered 2 babies! i feel so bad for her lol ive just had 2 hour nap, getting contractions that r like quite strong period cramps every 10-20 mins. ------------- |

I agree with the walking, even late first stage/transistion lying down slowed them right down to the extent I could just about doze between them - and that was 24 hours after first crampy pains -------------

Oh yeeha, hes finally on his way. Walking was the only thing that made ne feel better too, and I just went up and down the drive for about 2 hrs at 6am!!! Was tired though and wanted to lie down in between contractions but be up and around when having them. Good luck Sheena, hope to see a cool little photo soon of your boy!! -------------

Just checked, they're playing in Christchurch. I don't know where I got Wellington from earlier I don't really follow either, but my kids (in my class) update me on Mondays and let me know who's playing in the weekend lol.

Wow don't come on in the morning and look what happens! Yay Sheena, glad it sounds like its all happening naturally for you!
Hehe I went to 4cm in about 30mins then had to have an epi and it took 4 more hours to get fully dilated. Enjoy this experience - my advice is to take in as much as possible. I was so drugged up I can hardly remember a thing.

The contractions are still quite far apart but when i have one now its got a bite to it, so they are getting stronger. ive been keeping active, cleaned up....DF vacuumed hehe and had a few contractions while moving round, now Im resting and just feeling crampy so far.... man this takes ages lol ------------- |

While you have your DF there fidgeting and waiting, make sure to put him to as much use as possible! Don't just stop with the vacuuming, this is the one time he can't complain! -------------

LOL sorry girls!!! i was having a sleep!
Contractions are painful now, but not so painful that I cant move round and stuff. They are coming every 10 mins or so. MY midwife is sick, the back up midwife has been up all night with two births so she is sleeping lol, the second back up midwife just phoned me to introduce herself and check on me, so she wants me to go into the hospital at 8pm for some monitering on the ctg and to check my temp etc and she will probably check to see if Im dilated at all. She said I can go home after that and come back when i am in established labour. I will put my bags in the car though incase I have to stay. My waters are still coming out lol, just soaked through my pad and pants before mmm lovely! ------------- |
