I have a friend who is living in Denmark with her DH and is due with their first baby in 6wks. She would quite like to get into MCN's but apparently they aren't very big in Denmark so she is having trouble finding out much. Does anyone know of any MCN suppliers in Europe?
I am not too clued up on MCN's, just know about the 1 brand that we use. She asked me the following questions and was wondering if you ladies would help me answer her: 1. a fitted nappy versus an all-in-one nappy???? 2. Is it better to spend a bit more per nappy but get it all in one... or not? 3. One of the styles I have been looking at is a one-size nappy, that needs nappy overpants, and boosters, but the actual nappy doesn't have fasteners, the overpants hold them in place. Is this a normal sort of thing? They are the cheaper option I have found... IMSE VIMSE. - I wouldn't have thought this was standard and would suggest that it sounds harder to use We have been emailing backwards and forwards and I want to help her but don't really know how. Any suggestions?? ------------- Lindsey

All in ones are ok but can take longer to dry. I have only used one type of fitted and they were ok but I prefer pocket nappies that way you can adjust the absorbency to what you need.
You can get one size pocket nappies, what you have found sounds like a lot of faffing about. MCNs are used quite widely in the uk I would get her to search there, she should be able to buy all the well known brands and have them delivered, if she buys in bulk then she could probably get a hefty discount. -------------

She could have the nappies shipped from overseas. Like I have girls from the UK buy nappies off me and have them shipped over and it works out cheaper for them than buying them over there which is crazy. It's just a matter of looking at exchange rates. Like it may be cheaper for her to buy from over this side of the world or it may be cheaper to buy from the UK.
I think what you are talking about sounds like so much fart assing around. Maybe get your friend to come on here and do a bit of searching through this board as theres loads of awesome advice on here. I'm like cuppatea, I prefer pocket nappies, you can get one size pockets if shes wanting that option. I have a limited experience with fitteds but don't get what the f uss is about really. |

I've seen the most gorgeous (and expensive!) nappies on a French website. Yummmmmm.
There is a lady from Scotland who is on TNN that sells nappies. I know Tots Bots are quite big in the UK. Let me do some googling

Found Denmark stockists of Tots Bots - fitted and cover system. Very cute covers. The websites may have more options... I'll look into it.

Lommebleer seems to be the word for pocket - so if you google that you should fine heaps of options to send through to her. But that site above Filabel Baby seems to have a great selection. You could also put your friend in touch with the cloth nappy forum board on www.babycentre.co.uk. It's a UK-based forum board but it's full of cloth lovers all over the place - and I'm sure they'll have heaps of info and suggestions for your friend. Your friend could easily order from the UK too - there are some great independent sellers such as Babykind and Twinkle on the Web.

I know a girl who uses them full time on her toddler and is very happy with them.
She has about 15 and uses them day and night. You'd probably need more than that for a newborn as they're not as fast drying as pockets. I think she boosts them for overnight too. Sorry, I know secondhand recommendations aren't very helpful are they! ------------- Mel, Mummy to E: 6, B: 4 and:

I had a Tots Bots Bamboozle (is that what it is called?) and it was suuuuper soft and cute cute cute.
I only ended up using it a few times so can't comment on how well it works but I have heard good things. It doesn't have a fleece liner though which improves drying time a little bit but because it is bamboo they take quiiite a while to dry (due to high absorbancy). The covers have gorgeous prints!!! (Again, can't comment on performance because I haven't used them) So... in summary: cute and soft but don't know about how well they work. Have heard good things.
