Sorry random Q but does anyone know where I can buy hand knitted baby stuff, in Auckland? I would like to buy a woollen jersey for Liam for the winter.

I am thinking of a charity kind of shop (often associated with a church??). I remember going to one last year in Tauranga where old ladies knit up things & sell them with the profits going to charity - if you know what I mean . I don't want to pay heaps of $$.

TIA.

I love knitted stuff too so much I now knit my own but before I learnt to knit I used to go to second hand shops like savemart as they have heaps of knitted stuff for only a few dollars each. Otherwise maybe a market or something?

Becks, he's usually 00 in tops.

My Mum & sister have each knitted him a jersey but one is already too small . I wish I could knit more than scarves & peggy squares!

Have you looked on TM. There are lots of ladies that sell hand-knitted things on there.

Also - not sure if it still happens or not, but at North Shore Hospital once a week there used to be like a few little market stalls, where older ladies would sell knitted things and crafts for charity. Might be worth calling the info desk to ask if it still happens?

I know in Wellington the Mary Potter Hospice shop has stuff knitted for sale. I don't know if that is a nationwide thing though?

There used to be a reguilar type of craft market in Devonport on a Sunday (once a month or so) and there were always lots of stalls with handknitted items. Check and see if there are any craft markets, church, or scholl fairs happening in yopur area as there are usually stalls selling this type of stuff there.
