a boy or a girl? I know that we have yet to get the BFP but at least we can dream and be picky at this stage. Once the BFP rolls round we will be happy with just a healthy bubs.

I would love a girl. I just think they are so cute to dress up. Also once they grow up they are more likely to remain close to the family.

I am torn - I always said I wanted a boy first and that's what my DH definitely wants but everytime I visualise me with a baby it's a girl!

DF would like a boy then a girl...if only it was that simple huh!! I really don't mind, I'd just like the baby I think boys would be easier though...I know what I was like as a teenage girl and the thought of parenting that scares me sh*tless. LOL. Also, I've never been a "girly girl" as such...no dolls or dress ups here, always a bit of a tomboy...

I want another girl next.  Obviously I'll be happy with whatever but I love having sisters close in age to me and loved it growing up too.  It'd also be pretty useful to be able to use all the clothes again.  I'd like to have a boy as my 3rd child and two older girls to fuss over him and mother him.  I haven't though past #3.

I'm not really worried! I did want another boy till I found a girls name I've fallen in love with (already had a couple of boys ones) so now I want both LOL Though I did have preference for a boy first - we didn't find out what he was till he was born, but guessed he was a boy and what do you know!

I want another boy next time.

I have many issues with my woman bits and the chances of it being pasted on a really high so I son't want to do that.

But I can tell Murphy will be there and I will probably get a girl.

If I was ever blessed with another baby I'd love another boy. I just adore my little man, how robust and adventurous and playful he is. I know girls rock too (being one myself, I believe I can comment lol!) but there is just something really special about having a little man.

Funny I feel this way, cos before we found out what gender he was when I was pregnant, I sooooooooo wanted a little girl. It actually took me ages to come to terms with having a boy in my tummy.

I love little red head girls, they nearly always have perfect skin and gorgeous eyes to match too.

I'm brunette, DH is blonde and my dad's a ginga (plus DH gets ginger facial hair) so we could have anything really.  Michaela had really dark hair like me when she was born but now it's light like DH's

I always wanted a boy first as I am the oldest and thought that it would be great having a big brother. But we would have been happy if Jack had been a girl. I want 3 children and would ove it if at least 1 was a girl but am happy to be the sole female in the house if we have boys.

OMG, i am the opposite. I was a little redhead with curly hair and I hated it and feel sorry for redheads, particularly boys. I like having red hair now but when I was little I would always get teased.

That is one thing I am hoping for - that we DON'T have a red headed baby. Apparently the red hair needs to be on both sides and DH doesn't have any history of it so fingers crossed!

I can't think of much cuter than that to be honest

Would love to have twin girls again next time. Because we'll have already 'been there, done that' and twins are the quickest way to get 4 kids

*can't believe I'm talking about next time already*

LOL Tishy.  DH wants twins too and I wouldn't mind either for the same reason - quickest way to get more children, and the more kids I have the less likely it is that I'll have to return to work.

Unfortunately twins don't run in my family, I'll be 30 when we TTC which is still fairly young (or so I repeat to myself several times a day) and I'm not on any fertility meds so the chances of me concieving twins are slim to none.

I asked DH the other day IF we have a sibling for B, how he would feel if it was a boy (he has a 16.5yo son as well as B) He said he would be fine, then asked how would I feel. I told him the truth, I think I could handle being a mum to boys. Like many of you I'm not a girly girl, and despite being the eldest of 3 girls, the thought of having a girl is both scary and exciting at the same time

We're still in talks at the moment re whether we TTC No 2.

I was determined our first was a girl from day one... we both wanted a girl ( of course would have been just as happy if it wasnt) but it was so that was all good lol I was ecstatic!!!

I was clucky for a boy a few months back and went mad and bought some really cute lil boys outfits and put them away but now we are wanting a another girl DP is determined to have another girl lol. I think the thought of having a son scares him to death! So we are thinking of girls names to say the least

Well I was wondering what this thread is all about so I had to check it out.
I'm not to fussed if we have a boy or a girl. However I have more stuff for a girl then I have for a boy...
We are not wanting to find out what we are having should our IVF be work.

Either, I think a boy...but a girl would be good too. I was totally all boy, but my neice is so cute that I sort of changed my mind...but still I think a boy - cos they are so rough and tumble (although I'm a rough and tumble girl...)

Nor me!! lol

I've got long curly red hair and DP *LOVES* it.......both parents had red hair and so do most of my neices and nephews. And they are cracker looking kids...if I do say so myself.  Chances are high that with his blond hair and my red hair we are gonna get some lovely blue eyed, red haired bubbas. Can't wait...aaawwww

PMSL.  I have a little girl who looks like a wee princess sometimes and is as sweet as honey but she's also very active, vivacious and capable.

From about 1 year old she started throwing herself down slides at the playground and instead of sitting on her rocking horse like any normal child she'd ride it standing in the seat like a circus performer, at 18 mo she started climbing little rock climbing walls they have at playgrounds for school age kids.  Today she decided to ride down the stairs on a chair.  She's forever climbing my furniture.  She loves wrestling and gets a real hoot out of hiding from us and jumping out to scare us - just to give you a few examples.

She's also tough as nails and on the infrequent occasions when she cries we know she's really hurt herself and even then she usually gets up and brushes herself off pretty quickly.  In contrast I can quickly call to mind a couple of boys her age who are complete wusses.

I think that it's partly personality and partly parenting that determines how "rough and tumble" your kids will be and it has absolutely nothing to do with gender.

I'd love twins, especially two little twin girls. Or one of each. Or if I only get one at a time I'd like a girl first. DH's uncles are twins so not sure if that ups our chances or not, or if it needs to be more direct than that.

almostthere - they're pronounced Eimear (ee-mer) and Aoife (ee-fa). Both very common in Ireland, Aoife is constantly in the top 10.

Twins are dependant on the women's genes.  To concieve twins you need to pop out two eggs and have them both fertilised or one fertilised egg needs to split into two.  So it's all up to you, although just because you don't have twins in the family on your side doesn't mean you won't concieve twins (just ask Emma).  Also, I learnt reading another thread that you DH can pass the twin gene onto your children since it runs in his family, but it doesn't up your chances of having twins.

Using fertility drugs and IVF up your chances of having twins and I recently read that being older (over 35), being heavier, having high levels of folic acid and eating yams may increase your chances of having twins naturally.  Then again it may just be a loud of bullocks put out by the yam industry to promote the often forgotten little vege.

Our girls are doomed, Willie looks like the poster boy for the Black Power so any boys they bring home better be brave!

I'm busy PMSL at all these people who want twins tho, you lot are insane! And Tishy, you are even MORE insane! I love mine to bits but I wouldn't go thru another twin pregnancy, or twin newborns (or twin toddlers for that matter!) for all the tea in China!
