I've got 2 for K - one from JK and the other from The Warehouse. I know there are leading MCN brand swimmers out there (Real Nappies, Monkey Doodles...) but have found thes work really well. From memory the Warehouse one was $8/9? HTH ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Absorbant layers would just fill up with water, so the swim nappies are effectively just 'poo catchers'

I have tried Kushies & Swimmis and I much prefer Swimmis (made by Bummis). I bought mine from Snazzipants. The elastic in the Kushies were quite tight and I found the sizing small, but the Swimmis is really comfortable and a good fit - Leo is still in the large, even though he's at the end of the weight range (9-13kg) - and he has heaps of room to grow in it! I think they're about $19, although it's been a while since I bought it.

The gremlins have the Bummis ones from Snazzipants too, was gutted coz when I bought them they only came in blue and red, now they have a whole range of funky colors! They work fine, seal in nice and tight around the leg to catch any floaties. Gremlins are still in meds altho I prob *should* get them larges coz they are starting to outgrow the rise. -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

I am cheap and just use a normal nappy unstuffed when Josh goes for a swim ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

hehe I used an unstuffed peapod on Luke (now too small when stuffed) and it worked absolutely fine! and looked very cute! ------------- Mum to two beautiful kids

good idea using an unstuffed pocket.... I am also looking for another swim nappy as we are going to Raro in just over a week and our current one takes ages to dry... but I want a swim nappy that is lined with fabric as Ava's poo's are very explosive and liquid so think the mesh stuff would not contain anything...??!?
Does the chlorine in pools affect a normal nappy at all?? watching this thread with interest :D |

Most swimmers are made with PUL and another swim type fabric so they will keep poos in.
I'm sure that I have read somewhere that continual use of pockets in chlorinated pools does degrade the laminate (PUL) so I wouldn't do that all the time, but as a once off or done very rarely I doubt it would affect it. |

I definitely wouldn't use my pockets in a public chlorinated pool on a regular basis. I do swimming lessons with Leo each week and my togs get ruined from the chlorine - Grace goes through a pair of togs every 2 terms from chlorine damage! I'd rather use a $19 swim nappy than a $25+ pocket nappy!

I use one of my homemade pockets so i'm not ruining a $25 nappy probably an $8 nappy. I did have a small nappy that I can't remember the brand name and it was good. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I have a monkey doodlez one which I find great on DS - he hasn't pooed in it so can't comment on that Overall though, it is a nice snug fit around the legs and waist and is nice and trim. ------------- Mum to Ellie, Dylan & Lauren |

I like a velcro opening nappy that does up like a nappy, rather than a pull-up, because I imagine it would be much easier if there ever was a poo to clean up!
