a while back in a thread started by foxxy one i said that i didnt believe that babies needed to be taught how to go to sleep.

Well this week in the latest Littles mag they had the baby whisperer saying the exact opposite...that we need to teach babies how to settle and sleep.

so i guess i was wrong.

LOL Debs.

I dont believe in most of the baby whisperers theories but i have found with my baby that they need to be taught about self settling to sleep etc. That is just me and my babies and what works for me may not work for the next mama.

Me too. My baby needed to be taught about self settling but my nephew who I started looking after at 2 days old was a dream. My mum said I was the same (always loved sleeping... still do).

Even so young each baby has it's own wee personality and I find it hard to agree with anyone who generalises (having said that if it's the same women I'm thinking of I read her book and it really helped me set up a routine for Michaela that I was happy with).

every baby is different and needs to be treated in a different way.....you just need to look at your own children to know that!

Spencer knew how to go to sleep, he just didn't know how to do it in his bassinet.
