Hi all

Another silly question for you.....

you know me and how paranoid I am during pregnancy and how careful I am with Food.

But yesterday I had made my self a sadwich with the night befores roast chicken.

I heated it up in the microwave for 2.5 min before I had it. It was making the bursting noises. However by the time I cut the tomatoes etc I noticed that the chicken was coldish...I ate it any way.

Do you think I am safe? Or should I look out for Listeria signs?? I am freaking out. Stupid me I shouldnt have had it...but it was soooo damn tasty.

Yeah Id say you are fine I think its more of a risk when you eat it stone cold from the fridge like. The fact that you heated it is good, when you think about it, it would have gone coldish at some point during the time you were eating it anyways, unless you eat super duper fast lol

Nah, you would be fine.  For a start you cooked the chcken last night and you prepared it so you know how well that was done.  And then you reheated it.  I would probably have felt fine eating it stone cold from the fridge the morning after I had cooked it too.

you will be fine..personally i wouldnt reheat it though but I would say 2.5 mins would definitely kill all germs:) !

I would only reheat chicken that I cooked myself the night before. I wouldnt reheat something Id brought home etc.

nzpiper id be the same, if Id cooked the chicken myself the night before Id feel fine eating it cold the enxt day. But not chicken from anywhere else.

Yeah you'll be fine. So long as you cook it and then put it straight in the fridge and have some the next day it's ok.

Every time I craved a cold meat sandwich we'd have roast the night before - DH thought he was in gravy - literally!

Am I reading this correctly, if you cook the chicken yourself and have a cold unheated chicken sandwich the next day, is that safe??

I really enjoy chicken sandwiches just heating it up doesnt appeal to me at all.
