Well I couldn't think of a better title, but if your like me you have a nosey in every thread anyway lol
I am wondering how many other preggy mums are out there that are bigger ladies. I still have weight from 3 babies, and have the dreaded overhang tummy. This makes me very self conscious! This is also the biggest I have every been when falling pregnant. I feel different with this pregnancy. Probably because I felt I looked pregnant beforehand!
So I'd like to chat to other woman who are in this situation.
I look at the lovely pictures in the baby bellys section and feel so envious as I won't be showing any pics of me....probably not until about 38wks anyway lol
If there aren't any other ladies around on this forum, I'll just hide in the corner blushing lol....this has taken a bit of guts for me to post this :)

Thanks Lisa. I wish I had got rid of mine! With my first preg I put on 21kg and most of that was fluid, but then got quickly again, and with the stretching of the skin, I've never been able to lose it :(

I'm a big gal aswell but this is my 1st pregnancy so cant use that as an excuse. I am already self conscious about my size and I dont think I will get a nice round belly so I'm going to look even fatter

You might be surprised leelee. i am a larger lass and i definitely looked pregnant. it will all depend i think on how you carry . some skinny ladies dont look pregnant either... i think my overhang now is worse after having a c section with my last and i dont think it will ever go away. and out of 3 pregnancies i only ever posted one belly shot on the board, and that was this last pregnancy and i was almost full term.

Pick me! I put on 23kg having the gremlins and didn't lose any of it before I got preg again with this one, which is entirely my own fault!
I have the overhanging tummy, and I also have the strangest shaped bump you ever saw. It has a dent in the middle so it's not really round. It looks like baby is really high when in fact she is actually sitting really low.
This is me at 28 weeks with this bub, but the top does kinda disguise the hanging down, funny shaped tum.

ok iwas 96kg wen i got preg with this 1 but still had the tummy from my previous pregnancies but my boys are nearly 7 and 5 so again my own fault i had long enough to lose it...i am lucky i guess cause my tummy started poking out and tightening up quite early on with this 1. i posted pics the other day in the belly thread and am only 18 weeks and feel about 30 lol hopefully the growth slows down or ill definately be bursting by the end of it all.
dont stress bout being bigger as someone else has said it all depends on how you carry.

Lol Emma (ps: Where did you get that top - I WANT IT!)
I'm the same - I have a dent in the middle cuz the good old spare tyre doesnt go away when you're pg - it just stretches and goes all funny :P My tummy looks like an upside down egg cuz my 'little curtain' bit got all pushed down to the bottom hehe.
I didnt *look* pg til I was hmm... 20+ weeks?
Never be ashamed or feel stink about how you look, all pg ladies are beautiful no matter what size you are!

I had abit of a tummy befor i got pregnant with this baby but my weight is everywhere. I have posted a pic of myself on page 36 of due novemebr thread. It doesnt look to bad as my legs are hidden. I am 20kgs bigger with this baby as i gave up smoking a few month back. I am finding this pregnancy alot harder on my body.

I am so glad this thread has started
I'm a bigger girl too and I lost 10kgs on WW and now I'm pregnant! I had lost only quarter of the weight I needed /wanted to lose, so I feel that I'll just look fat, not pregnant when I start to show.

I'm not currently pregnant, but i thought i would post anyways since it wasn't that long ago that i was going through the same thing..
I'm a larger lass, and had lost 20kg before my 'whoops' baby was conceived thinking... GAH, why did I bother loosing the weight? I gained 21kg during pregnancy But now I look at my daughter (now 7 months) and she was definitely well worth the hassle..and walking her in the pram everyday (sometimes twice a day) is quickly helping me loose the weight... and even though I have a horrible scar and a 'curtain' now it's well worth it to see the outcome

I wasn't going to, but I'll join in as well. I only gained about 4kg over my pregnancy but I was very overweight to start off with. I'm also in the 100kg+ club ... easily!
This was me at 35 weeks, but I never looked any bigger than this.

I am a the bigger mum to be too, and at 24 weeks and only me and DH can notice any baby bump at the moment, but it is starting to look more like a baby and not just me being fat. I feel more comfortable in preggy tops just to help any curious on-lookers figure it out.
I lost some weight before getting pregnant, and have been too scared to look at the scales since about week 6. I can't handle watching the weight come back. I never thought I would be that worried about it really.

I'm in! I was about 95kg when I started and have put on about 7kgs so far. I can't describe how I felt when I hit 100kgs (not to mention the guilt at feeling bad about it) but I know that its only me that can get rid of it again later. Im 174cm so am lucky in that I carry it quite well and am surprisingly obviously pregnant which was also lucky cause I havent done exercise since Dec (bar the odd walk) and while I do try to eat fairly well, i prob have some sort of junk each day, woops! The report from my 20 week scan said that some measurements couldnt be taken 'due to maternal build', she was basically saying I had too much internal fat, mean aye!! That really hurt, but oh well. I get a baby soon so i remind myself that that is what is most important! And DH loves my body anyway so it doesnt matter!!! (im quite happy with it at the moment too, which is great!!)

I am in this club too. I was 96kg when I got pregnant with Andrew and put on 35kgs with him (damn pre eclampsia). With Josh I was 90kgs to start with and go up into the 110's (didn't get weighed often enough to actually know how much I put on).
This is me the day before I had Josh:

I will upload the phot of me the day before I had Andrew as well.

Welll.....hmmmmm.....I am in this group too.
I have over hang too from Zaara...I HATE IT!!
Before I got pregnant with this one I was 81kg's...I am 84Kg's now!!
I have a dent as well so at the mo I look like the baby is next to my breast...NOT!!
Prior to getting pregnant I was wearing size 12-14 skirts and pants and 12-16 Tops (Because I have Big breasts). But I a m def heavier then I look.
I had time to loose my weight from Zaara and I did but coulnt get rid of this over hang......and I am far too lazy to excersise.
But I love the pics ladies. I also looked very FAT with Zaara and not pregnant..its only after 30 weeks did I look pregnant.

Hi, I'm also a bigger mum to be. I lost some of my previous pregnancy weight, but that was 10 years ago and I have struggled with my weight ever since. Got to my highest weight ever, but then lost around 12 kgs in the last year.... until now, that is.
I was 107kgs when I got pregnant 6-7 weeks ago.
EEK!!
So I am going to have to watch what I eat as I truly don't want to gain more than is necessary in this pregnancy. That is a huge fear of mine!
I'm too scared to hop onto the scales at the moment, but will keep an eye on my weight.. probably each month.

Hey guys... i wondered if i would find some other ladies out there that were of the larger variety... Yay...
I am 27 yrs old and i have a 9 yr old daughter... now pg with #2 and am like 9 weeks or so...
I have the overhang tum thing and i feel really funny when my partner plays with my tummy... it's very wobbly... i have always been a big girl but being a solo mum at 17 kinda made me very lonely and i just got depressed and bigger...
Now a whopping size 22 and gonna get even bigger... i did lose 30 kgs and got down to the lovely size 16-18 but that was when i was going out every weekend and dancing... but then kinda fell out with those friends and started eating again...
i was told by my doctor that i was unable to conceive due to my weight and god damn it... look now i am pregnant and very weary about what i will look like once i get a bit bigger...
It is nice to know that i am not the only one out there who is bigger and proud... i don't like my appearance and will do something about it after the baby appears... but i DO want to do something about it... I have a very outgoing personality as most bigger girls do... and i am under the thing that if you don't like me the way i am then bugger off... lol!
hope to talk to you all soon...
PS? did you guys get baby bumps early in your pg??

Hey Leticia, I was 105kg when I first got pregnant, and I'm now 16 weeks and 1 day (that 1 day counts) and I definately have a baby bump. Even though I am a bigger girl, I hold my weight in my legs and bum, so I think that's why I've noticed the baby bump. Other people though, might just think I getting fatter, lol. All my family and friends are lovely and are telling me that you're meant to put on weight when you're pregnant, but some days that doesn't help, especially since I was on Weightwatchers when I got preggers and I was used to seeing weight drop off, not pile on.

but i know too it also depends on other factors as to whether your bump shows or not...my cousin is very big and her bump was even bigger! whereas another cousin is also very big and you could hardly see tell her bump from fat stomach!

Hi guys, I have always been overweight but had joined weightwatchers last year and went from 100kgs to 76kgs before getting pregnant. Now at 29 weeks I'm 87kgs but I feel totally okay with that as I know I can get it off after the baby by going back to WW and the gym. I made a conscious decision to stay away from the scales while I'm pregnant or I would have got obsessive and depressive about it. The thing that has got me down is I was expecting to get a classic round belly but my tummy still has a crease in the middle which gives it a bit of a bulge in the top. It looks like I'm carrying really high but my midwife said the baby is actually low down in my pelvis. I'm almost looking forward to getting really big so it's obvious I'm pregnant and not just overweight!

I don't really have a preggy belly, I have a lumpy, bumpy flabby tummy. Sounds similar in shape to yours Melia, it has a definite crease i the middle then a high lump up top.
I must admit, I'm at the point now where I just want this weight off, can't wait to get baby out so I can have my body back and get back to being fit and healthy coz I've spent the past 2 years being fat and unfit and I hate it.

I was 83 kgs when I got pregnant - after losing 10kgs at WW (scared of the big 100kgs). I went down to 75kgs in first triemster and am slowing climbing back up. Currently 78kgs but if the weather doesn't get any better I will soon start packing it on. I was walking at least 3 times a week - about 7kms. Have done one walk in two weeks and been aqua jogging only once since the weather has been so crappy. I really want to keep active - not only to try not to put on excessive weight but also to get fit. I heard that being fit is good for your energy levels when giving birth.
