Hi everyone,

I have a lovely 17 week old girl, and she is usually a real gobble guts - feeding has never been an issue for us. However over the last 24 hours she will only feed for a few minutes before pulling off the boob and fussing around - completely not like her. She's fully breastfed other than a dreamfeed of formula once a day. AF also returned yesterday for the first time (boo hoo!) so I'm thinking it's related as I've read that AF can effect the taste of breastmilk.

So I was wondering whether anyone else had experienced a baby not wanting to feed when they got AF, and how long does this last for! Will she get used to the taste and is this going to happen every month?

My AF returned when Michaela went onto formula for daytime feed at 5 months. She was unsettled with BFing for awhile although it could have been because she was older and easily distracted/I was working/ she was partially bottle fed - who knows?! The point is I continued BFing for another 10 months after so it did settle down for us.

I think I remember Teresa (Busymum) saying one or more of her girls did?
Maya was never fussed and the gremlins were on formula before I got AF back so no help there I'm sorry.

I have just got my first AF since Ella was born and haven't noticed any difference in breastfeeding.

Yep when I first got my AF after having Jett, he was about 3 months old, he got really fussy and irritable on the boob. I haven't noticed him playing up everytime I get AF - but he definitely did the first time.
