Ok, we have a tummy sleeper! And he is starting to leak through his nappies again.

We have tried
Foxybots minkee + foxybots trifold and 2-4 hemp inserts - works well but his foxybot is sooo huge and it tends to ride low on him and the area under his belly button gets wet.

Bumgenius/ homemade PUL pocket + with the foxybots + hemp insert combo as above. works better than our foxy but still leaking

I am wondering about fitted. I dont think Tom is an above average wetter because before he started this tummy sleeping he could get through a night with one of the above combos. Adding more hemp to it just seems to make the nappy fit worse.

What is trim and snug fitting? Itti bitti? Designer bum?

Suggestions please?

I feel your pain! We have a tummy sleeper in our house too!

The only one that seems to get Samantha through 13 hours without leaks is a Monkey Doodlez Fitted with Doodlez Doubler and Tweedle hemp/microfibre trifold all covered by a superbrite cover. This has shown it can take all Sam throws at it overnight, where as all of my pocket combos seem to end up with the front of her pj's wet!!

Maybe get a soaker and put it overtop. Make sure his wee thing is pointed down too. Jack keep leaking out the top and i realised it was because his wee thingy points up when we put the nappies on him.

Another idea is to fold one of the hemps in half and put it in the front? We have to have the bulkiest nappy but its a waste because the back half is usally quite dryish.

Otherwise a bitti boo works quite well we boost ours with a peapods hemp and that seems to do the trick.

Leo is also a tummy sleeper and is really wet at the front of his nappy. I'm trying a DB hemp fitted & merino cover night so fingers crossed! His bottom was huge but very cute and I love the fit of the hemp nappy. It was so hugely padded but fit so nicely on, not at all awkward like I'd imagined. And it's all snuggly fleece lined like a pocket. I got the bamboo booster too which snaps into the hemp booster so it all fits in really well. The cover was a little baggy around the legs but Angie had warned me that there might be a little gaping with the cover (not the nappy) but that this shouldn't cause any problems. I guess we'll find out in the morning! I have to say though, it looks sooooooo cute that if it works I think I'll definitely have to get another!

I found the Ecobubs pockets worked OK till they started tummy sleeping, now I only use them as a last resort and I put a soaker over the top.

We've been using fitteds and covers for a couple of weeks and it's going OK. Both gremlins sleep on their tummies (and sides and backs and up the wall...) The Bitti Boos are super trim, but I boost mine and that makes them a little bulkier.

so fitteds might be the way to go? In the meantime am I likely to have any joy with sposies or do they leak with tummy sleepers too? Seriouly EVERY day I have to change all his sheets and gogo bag!

I used sposies on Leo for about 3 weeks at night (until I plucked up the courage to try fitteds) and he was dry probably 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time he had leaks. That was using Huggies Ultra, which I remembered being the most absorbant when my daughter was in sposies.

well I might try sposies while I work out what to do for nights. Designerbums sound like a goer but I dont think we can wait till they arrive without doing something in the meantime.

Oh you might have missed out on the DB's too, as she is going away! Bugga!

I put Sophie in sposies for awhile when I was getting sick of her being wet every morning. She can just last in a huggies, if I change her as soon as she wakes up.

Forgot to add.... When I was having the same problem with Alex, I changed to a bigger size pocket for night time. (So he is in an XL tweedle at night) and that works well. Gives more room for all the stuffing, and it still sits nice and high and snug around his tummy.

Oh bugga about the DBs! Im really at a loss as to what to do. I went to buy sposies and our local 4 square didnt have huggies crawlers! I wasnt going to spend $20 for a pack that I dont trust. Useless....they also dont stock his formula so we have a 20min drive to get formula or nappies.

He woke upat 5am soaked through and really upset. so I had to change everything at 5am and he was crying cause he was still really tired. It is just awful. I dont know what else to do! Maybe I should buy a soaker off Stacey and try thatover his pockets....do you think that will help?

Oh you poor thing! Would you like to try a large nappy of Leo's stuffed with hemp fleece flats? If you have a larger nappy stuffed with more it might work? I don't mind loaning you one? Also, I saw a note on the DB website saying that there were going to list a few fitted nappies that they had already in stock to sell while they're closed down - if you keep an eye on the website you might still be able to pick one up?

oooh I might go and look. Thanks for the offer of a large...he's quite a wee fella so I think a large would be overkill

Our failsafe nighttime combo is a snazzipants fitted followed by a hemp insert followed by a fleece snazzipants cover - hasn't let us down in several months of use including when Jack still fed several times overnight and also now that he sleeps on his tummy :-)

Amelia sleeps on her front with her legs up. We have just recently started using cloth at nights and so far we have been lucky.

We use a bamboozle with a bamboo booster, hemp liner, microfiber insert and then just a piece of microfleece on top. And we use a Kushies Cover over top. It is a bulky but keeps the leaks in :)

By sleeping on her front with her legs up I mean her legs/knees tucked up under her almost like she is kneeling but lying down with her bum in the air!

Itti Bitti are coming out with a new nappy soon, especially for night time. Can't wait! I have been hanging out for a trim night nap that is absorbent - my 2 and an half year old is trained in the day and I just hate putting all that bulk on him at night, after wearing undies in the day.
