For the past couple of days I've had really bad wind/gas pains, intestinal wind, and it's really painful. It feels like contractions, those of you who have had babies will know what I mean - that real pressure in your butt feeling.
Nothing I do will get rid of it. I've tried a hot bath, tried forcing it out by farting (I told you, TMI!), even a bowel motion didn't help.
The pain atm is so bad I can only hobble and getting in and out of the car, or on and off the couch, is agony too as it makes it flare up. To make things worse, I suspect baby's head is right down in my pelvis so putting pressure on things down there.
So what can I do to fix it? I never had anything like this with the girls?

Have you tried some gavascon or something like that? I find it helps when I am windy. Ginger is supposed to help too.

I'm taking Mylanta for heartburn, I haven't noticed that it makes a difference?

Hehehe so you're a fart machine as well eh ;) Try some really bland foods and see if that helps - if not, try the ginger thing :D

Hmmm, ginger, will give that a go! Thanks! (at this stage I'd try anything!)

Ow, you poor thing. My nurse friend who works with gastro patients after surgery swears by lying on your right hand side with your legs up - helps gas move through the bowel apparently! Good luck - I hope something works.

And you could try as warm a bath as Iggle-Piggle will handle?  There's always the idea of skulling a bottle of gripe water.  Intestinal wind pain can really stop you in your tracks, eh.  You'd probably want to know what it was that sparked the problem... pickled onions recently?!?

I know this is going to sound weird but it works for me when Im preg. I get down on my knees and put my shoulders on the ground (as much as you can around your bump). This elevates your backside in the air, relieves a bit of pressure of babies head - it should release wind within a few seconds. You might not want anybody else to be around tho - you will get harassed about it.

I found dried or fresh fruit makes me extremely windy while I am preg.
