on a good note we got the CDA so that's good...(and this is crossposted so more people see it)
but anyway Ethan had his bottle (as normal Pepti jr) and came out in raised red spots mostly on tummy..seemed fine though has been spilling a little more than usual..rang Rodney Ford(allergy doc) and they are ringing back today but while i was on the phone the bumps went back down..but after they closed the bumps came back..and came back a little with bottles last night..he's sleeping fine..still a bit spilly but perfectly happy.. do i take him to ordinary doc? or do i wait for Rodney and see what he says? have to add some more so its not double posting.

I would ring and make an appointment at the normal docs for late this afternoon and then you can cancel it if need be depending on what the allergy doc says.
Good luck.

I replied in the other one, but what will the normal doc be able to do other than say you need to go back to the allergy doc? I guess they can tell you if its hives or something else tho.

Coudl it just have been a little heat rash? (if you were cuddling him to give him his bottle?!?) I rang our GP in a panic when O was about 6 weeks old as he broke out in spots all over - it was baby acne and apparently very common at that age. I would talk to your GP first!

Rohann's excema can come and go a bit like that, esp if she is a bit too warm.

the excema cream is a mild one so tis ok even though steriod based! doc said looks like the aftermath of an allergic reaction....or something viral..i was like what like meningitis..he's like no....sounds like the right thing is neocate and to see what happens from there..*sigh* oh well.. just weird it happened after a month!

Thats the same as what Lauren was perscribed for her exzema. Only use it quite sparingly as its not that good for our skin! (You probably already know that anyway)!!
It does work well and clears the exzema up though!

he did say to keep an eye on the blister looking thing on his hand and only to be concerned if i saw more..maybe that could be from wiping his hand with wipes ?weird....any ideas?
yeah we will be careful i was just worried as noone else got given that they got non steriod first but he assures me its fine..

Talking of wipes, Lauren is allergic to them. I use cloth wipes with water and only use wet wipes when out and about as they are easier.
I would just keep an eye on it, but sometimes Laurens exzema can look like raised blisters especially if shes scratched it a bit.
Hydrocortizone is a normal exzema prescription. As I say its just not for prolonged use. I use it very occasionally on Laurens bad patches, otherwise I went to the Homeopathic shop and got a natural exzema remedy that I use a couple of times a day and generally it stops it in its tracks and its definately ok for babies skin!
Interestingly Lauren s trigger is apple. I cannot eat an apple anywhere near her, her exzema becomes so red and aggressive, and I dare not give her any apple or she gets really bad!

L's exzema is very patchy, mostly on her torso. No I am not on a special diet, I am just avoiding apples!
She is fine on pears and bananas so thats all I give her fruit wise.
Cloth wipes are just as easy as cloth naps. I use both cloth naps and cloth wipes, only disposables when we go out and at night cause I can't be bothered with her wetting through the bed.
We use aqueous cream twice a day and Alpha Keri Oil in her bath water.

i am getting baboozooles(sp) for night Tiff says hers last all night..atm i change his bum twice in the night:( ! i must get some cloth wipes too then:) so her excema isnt food related? (i assume as you arent avoiding any food except apples?)

On speaking to the naturopath today she seems to think she might be allergic to pectin that is in apples and is a preservative in most food. Her other trigger is stress, if she gets uptight about something, wham she has it all over her torso.
I had exzema as a baby, so no surprise that she has it too. I grew out of it by 3 years old.
As for cloth wipes, I just got some cheap baby cloths from Farmers and they work a treat.

Yeah the pectin can affect reflux babies quite badly as well.
Kerri-anne i bought some cheap face cloths from baby factory and use those as wipes except when out then I use babywipes.

Yep KA still fully b/f, apart from one bottle a day of Goats milk formula for her late afternoon feed to keep her taking the bottle! I decided to just drop one feed totally as I cannot be bothered expressing anymore!
B/f just comes so easy to me now (not in the early days thats for sure) I am reluctant to give it up!

Rohann's excema can get raised bump like patches that can come and go, but at the moment I'm finding the Lemnis cream and aqueous is maintaining very well. However Peachy we use the aqueous cream in the bath and find it a bit tricky (though getting better now) and was wondering, the Alpha Keri oil is that all you use in the bath? And do you just get from the chemist?
And yep, we use cloth wipes with water etc works really well. I also find them a bit more 'grippy' when cleaning a pooey bum. Though I got a special pack designed for use as cloth wipes, came with a tub for the water etc.

In regards to the blister on hand, he could of told you to keep an eye out for more, in case it is hand, foot and mouth disease. Just an idea.

Yeah and if the Alpha keri oil doesn't work then there is some stonger stuff you can get, that's made from Pine Tar I think, it smells really strong but apparently is really really good.

Xanda had hand, foot and mouth and they looked like little blisters, he was not allowed back at daycare until all the blisters had popped. But apparently there are two diffrent strains of it.
Glad to hear it is gone now.
