....and I'm still curious about something.

I wonder about this from time to time but never really asked a doctor or my mw or anyone about it.
I don't think I ever told DH, either.
But today is the "anniversary" of the occurance (I have a weird thing about remembering random dates).

(This could be a little TMI, but what is OB without it, huh?!! )
7 years ago, DH and I had been living together for about 6 months in a new city, about 8 months into our relationship.
I was prone to fairly heavy irregular periods so this one wasn't out of the ordinary, but I was in the shower one morning and I heard a slopping sound, looked down and there was a fairly large (like the size of the palm of my hand) clot type thing on the shower floor. I just kinda flicked it with my toes to help disperse it so it could be washed down the drain. But it was a solid blood covered mass. I actually had to flush it down the toilet (which I did, totally without thinking - being a naive 19 year old). I didn't tell DH or a doctor as I wasn't in any more pain than normal and I had my usual heavy period....
But the more I thought about it (and even to this day) I wonder if it was a miscarriage.

I don't know why I'm writing this...but I guess it's a bit of catharsis as it's the annivarsary and all.

Funnily enough, if the miscarriage I had back in '04 had been a successful pregnancy, that baby would've been 3 this coming Tuesday.

I guess having Hannah makes me think about these things more.

Anyway. Thanks for reading...I guess I just needed to get it out

That's ok, we always live an wonder. and it's good to get things out.

I have spent the day waiting for mike to remember that 1 year ago today we had our routine scan and found out our baby had died a few days before.

I have left a small reminder that he'll see when he goes to close down the computer later cos i can't bring myself to tell him that he forgot..

Charly, I don't know what it's like to miscarry or if there are other things that can go on down there that could cause a clot but I imagine the 'what if's' must fly around in your head. I hope sharing it has helped a bit and hopefully someone might be able to enlighten you as to whether it could've been a mc or not.

Mum2paris, I hope your DH did remember. Most men I know (including my DP) are absolutely terrible with dates but it doesn't mean they care any less. Hugs for you at this sad time

Janine ***hugs***
I agree with what Freesia said. But it's still a touch hurtful that they don't remember when we seem to remember these things as if it were yesterday.
I hope you have a nice day, regardless. Make sure you give your lovely girls lots of cuddles

Freesia, thanks
I definitely feel better getting it out.

Janine - I hope he hasn't forgotten but has instead chosen not to say anything about it. That's what my DH would do.

Charly
I can't think of anything I could add that would be helpful or meaningful but I'm glad you shared.
