Warehouse had these (playskool) MP3 player/speaker - were $89, down to $45, so got one for the boys today. fabulous. they have 50 songs programmed on, and then there is a wee mp3 player - plug into your computer (cable supplied), put in a cd and voila! it is on there. the boys are listening to some wiggles at the mo - they can change the musi themselves - no more broken cds. And it seems pretty durable too. is currently being whizzed around the lounge, but still playing. I thoroughly recommend

I saw them and wondered about them, that sounds really kewl, something ayja would probably like. I like how you get the cute cover to put over them too.

ETA: Was it a one day sale? I doubt the Papakura store would have any in stock *sigh* ...would be good to save aside for Xmas/2nd Birthday if I could find the money ...

Good score Lizzle! Where was that? I will have to have words to my DH for not letting me know (works at Warehouse Head Office) as I've been eyeing those up for ages.

We went there this evening, there's only 3 orange ones left. The girls were still playing around with it, and mike was going "nah, not worth it"... he wants to get Paris a pink mini cd player of her own for her room for her birthday.

Sorry to be a 'wet blanket' but I've also heard that headphones should be avoided for kids cos their ear-drums are really easily damaged.

Oh, these don't have head phones - just speakers - room listening as opposed to by-yourself listening.

personally I think ipods for kids are a wee bit anti-social

From what I understand talking to DH it seems like Palmy may have made a bit of a mistake in putting them on sale. He's not 100% positive but as they're new stock it seems strange to him. So looks like it truly was a bargain.
