I got darkened pigment (basically like patches of freckles, not red like I know some ladies get) quite bad with #1 almost 9 years ago. It started out with a tiny patch on both my cheeks while pregnant, then by 8 years later I had more dark pigment than 'normal' skin!!! (make up has been my best freind for the past few years.lol)
I know it has a name, but I always forget it and I didn't look it up
My question is . . . . has anyone else had this and found with #2 it has cleared up and if so did it come back again??
Around af every month it got super, super dark and I was worried it would do this the whole 9 months, but the last few days it seems to be fading *fingers crossed* I was wondering if this was wishful thinking or if it could happen??

I had a dark red spot on my nose. Same as you it got darker and darker as my pregnancy progressed and then one day after Michaela was born I noticed the spot had vanished. I hadn't realised it was pregnancy related until then. I can see it in my earlier post pregnancy pics but it just faded away within a few months after the birth.

I got pigmentation with my first pregnancy underneath both of my eyes (just above cheek bones) and thought it would disappear after I had the baby but it hasn't. I still have it now and am pregnant with second baby. After this baby is born I am going to get laser treatment on it to get it cleared up as at the moment I'm having to cover it up with make up too.

Its called chloasma, and its very common. Also known as 'mask of pregnancy'.
If you google it, you will find heaps of information about it. I covered this during my beauty therapy training, but don't have the info in front of me.
It has something to do with hormones oestrogen and progesterone producing more melanin than normal, which is why some women on the pill can get it too.
Sorry, I'm not that great trying to explain it on here, always easier when verbally talking lol.
But do search it, and you'll find heaps of info on it!
