Hi

I'm wondering what age can you introduce vegemite to babies?

I gave Tom some around 4.5 months. He screwed his whole face up....then I gave it to him a week later on a rusk and he loves it!!!

I think we gave Marmite to Ella around 6 months (it was on a rusk as well).

I got a free sample in a Reach Me box (had lots of goodies in it for bubs) and it says "Marmite can be introduced to babies over the age of 6 months" so I'd say vegemite would be the same as it's pretty much the same stuff..

I want to try it too.. and I've heard rusks are a really good way to get them to try it

How about adding it to the pureed veges for a bit of extra flavour good way to get them used to it I think, before you go the whole hog and spread it on a rusk or something!

Well, I tried vegemite on toast fingers this morning and Rex LOVED it There was vegemite everywhere, but he had a ball sucking the toast! I think my boy would eat anything I gave him!

I thought Vegemite is full of salt and that should be avoided with babies up to 1 year.

yeah I think they recommend you give them marmite instead as it has less sodium in it
