I got an article via email about gradually adjusting our kids routine in the lead up to the end of daylight savings.

Do you do anything to prepare in your house or just let things run their course?

The article I read suggesting putting them down for the night and getting them up in the morning 15mins earlier each day from yesterday until Sunday.

When Elle was a baby time change meant nothing but it took her weeks to adjust when daylight savings started a few months ago. The above suggestion would USUALLY work for us as Elle is a 7.30 to 7.30 girl BUT over the last 3 days she's not settled until nearer to 8.30pm and been up at 6.30. If this continues it will become 5.30am after the time change!

So typical of bubbas to change things right when you don't want them too LOL!

We have not done anything for either of ours yet...........However hubby said last night that Blake is going to be ready for bed at 5ish now as bedtime usually 6:30 ish so we need to keep him awake for as long as we can as his normal wake time is around 6 ish and I AM NOT getting up at 5AM...not for anyone....Not even next baby!! (well guess he will decide that aye??)

The Sleep Store have some good tips on making adjustments but I never bothered with my lot, they just have to get used to it. Mind you, they are pretty flexible.

As far as I'm concerned the time is the time, whether it's going back or forwards.

The only difference to me is that I'll be able to get Nyah into bed earlier. Past experience has taught me to just handle the jandle.

We don't do anything to prepare.

Yep we are moving Madisons routine forward by 20mins today, 40 mins tomorrow so on sunday should be adjusted to time change. We did this when the clocks went forward and it worked really well for us.

We have never done anything special for the time change..we just put her to bed at the normal time as per whatever the clock says and even if she's awake in her cot for a while so be it.

We do nothing, but we do know that our 6.30am wakeup(if we are lucky-more often that not its earlier) will become 5-5.30am! Woo hoo!

Kellz, how long does she take to settle into "real" time (actual time?)

It was a few weeks last time Shes a shocking sleeper anyway,...well was until this week! She has just started sleeping through 11 1/2-12 hrs, and settled last night without crying herself to sleep for the first time ever!

We haven't done anything either but we are lucky that Gina normally wakes up around 8am. We wake her up on daycare days at 7am to get her ready so daylight savings will work like a treat here - unless her pattern changes

We usually adjust by 15 per night from thurs prior but this time round, since Michaela's been sleeping in late and I'm having to wake her in the morning before I leave we've decided not to do anything to prepare her this time as the change may actually help us.

We haven't done anything. She usually wakes at 7 on the dot except this morning when she woke at 6. Urgh! I hope she doesn't pull that on Sunday

I don't care I don't have to be anywhere so I'll just let them do it slowly.

We won't do anything. We will just go by what the clock says and wear him out during the day and if he's a bit overtired he'll sleep fine. He didn't care last time.

I keep it in mind the day before, ie today, and at this time of year stretch out their sleeps (and dinner time if they can handle it) so they'll all be going to bed late tonight in the hope that no one will wake before 7am actual time in the morning

Uh-oh. I just realised today that I had very carefully arranged Michaela's birthday party for tomorrow morning to start at 10:30am about an hour before she normally starts getting tired and moody. Bugger! With daylight savings everyone will be turning up just as she'd normally be winding down for her daytime sleep.

On another note I decided to shift her bedtime out by 15 mins tonight. I'm only going to do this tonight and tomorrow night as over summer her bedtime was 7:30pm but I'd prefer she go down at 7pm - we'll see how long this lasts.

we had an early start here- at 5.30 Ella decided that she wanted to have a little party at least I managed to get her to go back down to sleep at 6.30 (otherwise it would have been a longggg morning).

Michaela woke at 4:15am so I gave her a bottle and she slept for another hour before deciding it was time to get up so I went into her bedroom and snoozed on her bed while she played around me.

She was shattered this afternoon. She had a wee sleep in church (no more than 30 mins) then didn't get to sleep again until about 2pm as we had family over for her birthday party. Went to bed really well tonight.

Gina adjusted well today - woke up at 7am and didn't go to bed until until around 8:30pm which is normal for her. Yey!

ETA: She did have a mid-day nap still, my reply makes it sound like she didn't
