A birthing pool at home. I have alway's wanted a home water birth. my friend has just bought one of these and are due in 2 week's she has offerd it to me to borrow. http://www.h2ohbaby.co.nz/ - Birthing Pool . I can't wait it look's so good. And I love being in warm water plus I am sure the boy's will enjoy some time with Mummy in there as well.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Ok...I've had no experience with birthing pools, but I had a look at the site, and isn't it just a normal pool, but with more strength? They say it can be used as one after, or a play pen

And not sure if you meant the boys will enjoy time in with mummy while your in early stages of labour or afterward and using as a pool....but if you meant during labour, wouldn't you be worried about keeping it clean as possible for the birth?

Edited to add: and I think your sooo brave! I'd be too scared to have a home birth!

Thats so cool.

I tried to get into the birthing pool at Kenepuru but there wasn't enough water in the pool before I had to jump in the ambo to go to Wellington. I'm going to try for a water birth this time around.

Wow, that's genius!!! I wanted to labour in water, but ended up having an epidural so it wasn't possible... doing it at home would be far more convenient

$180 isn't bad either! But I agree, just looks like a whopping big paddling pool lol

Good on you though! I wanted a water birth (at the hospital tho - but wasn't meant to be - hey hoo
