Another thread on here got me thinking, how many of you have followed a natural movement philosophy with your babies? How have you found it?
My little boy has just started crawling and because he's so young we had barely started sitting him up. Now we've decided to leave him to it as much as possible since sitting is the next natural progression, but he's got super strong legs and I'm wondering whether he might go straight to pulling up and standing instead. Has anyone's bub 'missed' a stage like that?

My boy started crawling around 6 months and we left him to things rather than trying to force him to sit. We had been told by our PAFT educator that sitting is the next progression and it is better for them to learn to do it on their own, as by putting them in a sitting position they are unaware of how to get to or from that position. He just started sitting up on his own one day not long after before progressing to pulling upand standing.

My little lady forgot to read the chapter on milestones and got hers all muddled up.
She always hated lying on her playmat and preferred standing (the girls in my coffee group couldn't believe it, I think they thought I was encouraging it but a couple of times I left the room and asked someone else to watch her and they found that letting her stand was the only was to keep her happy - it did my head in becuase as a small baby I couldn't just lie her in her bassinette or on a playmat while I did housework etc).
At nearly 3 months old my DD started 'walking' while holding on to our hands. My DH had walked at 4 mo and I wasn't having it so I pulled out her jolly jumper and purposely stunted her development.
She figured out rolling from front to back at 5mo about a month before she started crawling around (although she'd already been commando crawling for a couple of weeks prior to rolling) then went straight to pulling herself up and moving around the furniture.
She didn't figure out how to roll from her back to her front until about 10 mo - prob because she was mobile enough she didn't have to - and she didn't take her first steps (without the help of furniture or people) until the week before her first birthday.

It's worked - he's started sitting without any help from us - so very cute I'm glad as it means I don't have to worry about being there to catch him - he got into the position himself so he can get out too. He has started pulling up on some things, but not too often yet.
