Preggie symptoms still just as strong but at this stage HCG would be so high I guess it'd take a while for them to decrease. Still really sick.
We saw the heartbeat too :( So we know there was/is a baby there

Sounds bad eh but I'm scared to be hopeful! Hated the fall between being hopeful and knowing I was miscarrying last time.

Could it be that your period would have been due around this time since you are 8 weeks? I remember having this with both my pregnancies and all was well.

How incredibly stressful!!!!! I really feel for you. If it were me I'd go to an afterhours doctor and get a blood test done today to get some indication of what is going on. If you've seen a heartbeat then the risk of miscarriage goes down to about 5%, so the odds are on your side.
My fingers are crossed for good news.

I had brown discharge too at the exact same time as you (i.e. hadn't even been to see the midwife yet) but when I called her she wasn't at all concerned until the spotting got worse or changed to red.
Get DH to take Elle out for a couple of hours so you can rest a bit. I can only imagine how stressed out you would be. Sending lots of hugs your way - please let me know if I can do anything for you

Big hugs!
I had the same discharge between 8-9 weeks, it freaked me right out,and then had it again between 12-14 weeks, turned out to be just bub making me worry. I remember thinking I'd be OK if I miscarried, but I'd be bloody annoyed at having to be so sick only to lose the baby! I had brown discharge at 9 weeks with the gremlins too.
I have everything possible crossed for you, let me know if you need anything.

Fiona I had the same thing with this pregnacy. I had brown bleeding/discharge for nearly two weeks and even aftyer I had my 6 week scan I still had brown stuff(we saw a heartbeat at the scan) then it gradually just stopped and everything is fine now.
Try not to worry to much I had really high hcg aswell, like really high! But they couldnt tell me why I was spotting brown.
Maybe ask for more blood tests just to put your mind at ease?

Light headedness and dizziness is very common in early pregnancy too Fiona, its due to low blood pressure and/or your body adjusting to all the hormones. (At least that's what my midwife told me) I was advised to drink lots of water and rest off my feet as much as possible.
Hope you're ok and the rest is helping you feel better. Thinking of you hun!

Nope. Took all day to get hold of docs to get the form. Will book it tomorrow. Not really in a rush...scared they'll say the growth is still not right (I think it will all be fine but sometimes when someone else gets worried it causes me to get worried IYGWIM). I'm also so tired I can't get my head around making a time, arranging care for Elle (she falls apart in the ultrasound room) etc etc.

Have you got someone around who can watch elle for you fiona? we are taking Vincent on thursday to our scan, i'm hoping he will enjoy it. i think it will b good for him anyways.

I've taken Elle twice, once with my MIL too but she absolutely lost it BIG time. I don't think she liked the dark, closed room. She always gets very upset in doctors offices etc when the door is closed.
