Right before the contractions started really good,or your water broke...or you dialated quickly?
Me nothing interesting, sitting in hospital after being induced with one and sitting on toilet after taking castor oil with another.
Hoping it will just happen naturally this time doing something normal, like watching t.v?
Thought it would be nice to share different experiences.
So ladies, what were you doing??

When my contractions started it was just before morning tea time and I was sitting at my desk at work (but the labour signs were there when I got up that morning). When my waters broke I was in the back seat of my car going around the basin reserve (5-10 mins away from the maternity ward).

With 1st bubba - absolutely no contractions all morning till standing in the kitchen making late breakfast when waters broke! Lucky it was on the lino!! Then spent the rest of the day in labor STARVING as I never got time to eat!!
Second bubba - had contractions all day at work 10 - 15 mins apart until the old nana's started to freak out I would give birth there & so sent me home around 3 o'clock, waters then broke about 1 hour later in the shower!
With 1st babe a friend of mine would completely cover his car seat in black rubbish saks each time we went out from about 30 weeks in case my waters broke in his car - it was kinda funny but also rather annoying cause I felt really silly!!

kawwww - my induction went really fast also, started an hour after they used the gel, ashame baby was OP and sitting up on my pelvis OUCH back labour, but he turned and and they vontused him out (had cord around neck) as they were getting me ready for c-section.
tashzmum - i wish i could do that, would teach my dp, for making it such a mission for me to get back in bed after a toilet stop. lol

LOL Angie, I had the same thing. My labour started early am but I had no idea whether it would go for hours or days so I went to work for my last day anyway. Contractions were really obvious by 10am, I told my boss that I was in labour at 11am and I was bundled out of the office and into a taxi within 45 mins (it would've been sooner but I wanted to finish a job). You should have seen their reaction when I said I wanted to go home and not to the hospital.

Went into hosp for monitoring as I was overdue and they suddenly decided to break my waters. Was then told to go and relax or talk a walk for an hour and then come back to be induced.
I hadn't eaten and knew I wouldn't be able to for a while so DH and I walked from Akl hospital, through the Domain to Starbucks Parnell and had hot chocs!!!! I was having mild contractions all the way back and they fully kicked in once they put me on the drip.

My contractions started just as I was falling asleep at 11pm (of course!). Should have stayed in bed and tried to sleep, but was too excited. My waters didn't break until my mw broke them about 6.30pm the following night.

I had just finished a 9 hour work day and cooking dinner for 6 people and clearing up after it. I pushed the visitors out as early (9.30pm) as I could as I really just wanted to go to bed to sleep. As I went downstairs I felt my waters break and by 7am the next morning I was ringing my boss to say I wouldn't be in for work that day as I had just had my daughter
It was all a bit of a surprise really

That was Wed afternoon/evening and I got all excited thinking she would arrive soon, but nope, I laboured at home till Thurs night and she wa born on Fri morning.
With the gremlins I was induced by having my waters broken, so lying flat on my back in the delivery unit lol.

We were having a nice relaxing Saturday on Labour weekend last year, when I felt my first contraction start around lunchtime, was in full blown labour by 8pm, 8am the next morning into hospital and was 7 cm dialated, MW broke my waters straight away, many hours later Lauren was born via emergency c section at 3:15pm! It was a marathon effort after all those hours of pain

I spent the whole time during my contractions on the toilet except when I was driving an hour to the hospital. When I got there i was really busting and as soon as I got back on the toilet my waters broke. Luckily my midwife showed up a couple of minutes before Keira was born or she would have probably ended up being born there also. There was only half an hour between my waters breaking and DD arriving.

Conor - I was in the hospital as I'd been induced, I'd just laid down in the bed to go to sleep when my waters broken.
Nyah - At home, hanging the washing out, cleaning the house, playing with Conor. Did that until they became unbearable. Dad picked Conor up and as they were backing out the drive my waters broke. She was born an hour later.
Cooper - Watching Outrageous Fortune in bed. Went to sleep for two hours, contractions started. Got more frequent, off to the hospital, 5cms dilated, broke my waters, contractions kept coming then they stopped. Ended up on the drip and he was born two hours after the drip was started.

I started having contraction 4.30am but just thought it was BH. Stayed up till 6am where I got my girls up and ready for marching comp at 8am. Still in denial I drove them up to marching and dropped them off. Went home and made lunches for the days and got the DVD cam ready to record the comp. Drove back up and and stood for most of the day watching the comp.recorded both the girls twice and drove me and Mercedes home about 4.30pm. Contractions were really bad at this stage, I couldnt breathe thru the pain and they were 5mins apart. I decided it was just cos I was tired so I put Mercedes to bed with me and tried to sleep. Next thing the waters broke and I couldnt deny it any longer. He was born that night at 10.01pm.

Great stories. LOL at the denial thing Kels!
With Gem I had a S and S at 40 + 3 then woke with contractions two days later. My waters didn't break till they were putting in my spinal before trying ventouse/forceps etc the next morning. With Cam, I woke up in the middle of the night and feeling a bit 'wet' (tmi) trotted off to the loo to find blood running down my legs (eek - turned out to be a bloody show). Rang m/w who asked if I had any contractions at which point I realised I was having period type pains, Cam was born less than 5 hours later - once again waters didn't break till near the end when I was pushing!

Spent the day with a towel between my legs. Went to hospital Sat night at 10.30 and T was born via emergency C section on Sunday morning.

With Paris, had just got back from early morning wee stop, about 5am, hopped in bed, felt a pop, sat up and felt a gush, contractions started 1 hr later at 6am, 5mins apart from the start, and i had her in my arms at 11.07am so about 5 hours of actual labour, 2hrs pushing.
Ayja, he he, Had really only just gone to sleep, had decided to try a bit of natural induction - much to Mike's approval, went to sleep at 11pm, woke at 1am with niggles, more niggles till about 2ish, got a bit more hurty at about 2.30 while waiting for mike to get back with mum, got really full on at 3am when i got in the bath. Water's this time were broken for me at the hospital, at 4.15am, went from 7cm to 10cm in 10 minutes, pushing at 4.25am, had her in my arms at 4.35am.
I think waters breaking gets rid of alot of the pressure, I think labour hurt soooo much more when my waters hadn't broken! I really didn't undewrstand the thing people said about having the urge to push until i had ayja, they broke my waters, i had a wonderful feeling of not having all that horrible pressure, and them bam, you get that urge and you can't stop yourself. I never had that with paris.

I went to the toilet and had a show, then got up about half an hour later and went to the toilet where my waters started leaking and continued to do so until they were properly broken at hospital. I was in pre-labour for nearly 3 weeks though (Jack was trying to get out posterior but mummy was saying NO) so contractions started at 3 mins apart right from the word go.

Stood up and my waters broke, cleaned myself up again then contractions (3 mins apart, lasting 90ish seconds)started. We went to the hospital before the end of the movie (which i missed all of it), arrived and was 8cm. Luckily i was taping the movie and watched it a few days later when i got home.
