just wondering what sort of clothes other babies wear? Ella normally always wears t-shirt or bodysuit with pants/shorts/leggings (or when it is hot no pants just a nappy)......but I am always noticing the amount of dresses/skirts for baby girls in the shops and can't help thinking how impractical they are and that they must restrict the babies movement (I know that Ella can't crawl in a dress). We have a couple of dresses, but she doesn't really wear them...just for special occasions (i.e. xmas). People must buy them through, if they are in the shops?????

just something I have been thinking about as I have been looking through the new autumn/winter collections.....

When Nyah was little she wore alot of body suits with leggings. Dresses were for special occasions.

Cooper wears alot of body suits, a few tshirts, shorts and track pants when it's cooler like today.

I don't understand dresses at all. Although, this week we have had 2 comments made about our gorgeous "boy" !! But we mostly dress Bella in singlet with shorts/pants or I absolutely love rompers in any description and singlet with overalls. Far more practical I think.

All our girls mostly wear pants not skirts or dresses. Skirts are easier to get on/off for a two year old who does her own toiletting though. Two of my kiddies didn't crawl until after 10mos so dresses were fine until then. They're so cute though! So I put shortish dresses on Kryssi who is still crawling, not walking yet.

I think alot of the styles that you see at the moment are meant for the layered look, you know the little tiny skirts with the cute 3/4 leggings underneath them, so the short skirts don't get in the way while crawling, but are still there to have that cutesy effect.

We used mainly pants for Paris as she was a bottom shuffler so otherwise her legs would bear the brunt of everything and get sore.

Pretty much always apart from in summer and really hot weather, we use stokings or leggings for our girls underneath as little girls really have no tact as far as sitting nicely so everyone doesn't see their bottom. Even when ayja was in nappies, I'd stick a pair of her sister's undies over the nappy.

My girls wore dresses/skirts till they crawled and then again once they started walking, but they also wear jeans/pants and over the summer they've been living in nappies and t-shirts, yay for MCNs!

I put Ava in a singlet and pants with a sleeveless vest. I only put her in dresses on special occassions as well!

I bought a skirt in the JK sale, but I admit it is a bit ridiculous with her big cloth bum! Quite cute with tights thou!

Good point about dresses and crawling - I hadn't thought of that. Just as well I resisted all those cute PP dresses in the sale even though I could have justified that I was saving money by buying stuff for next summer now!

yeah I do quite like the layered look on little girls.....I think when Ella starts walking I might start dressing her in a few more skirts and girly stuff  .  Although at the moment dressing her is a quite a mission (in the mornings she gets dressed as she is crawling up the hallway), so the less clothes that I have to put on her the better..

Keziah has a few dresses, one is a swing dress that comes just above her bum (more like a baggy t-shirt) so she wears a cute over nap, and the other is a party frock which she has worn a few times that has a built in body suit...

Normally I dress Keziah in a body suit and pants or a rompa suit (short AIO) and now she is starting to wriggle about alot more so like Mum2Ella said...the less clothes the better

I love dresses but will probably move to pants once she starts crawling. I love woollen jerseys in the winter.

I love your comment about trying to dress Ella while she is crawling down the hallway! LOL, that is so true isn't it

Sam has a few skirts & dresses that she occassionally wears, but mainly a nappy and t-shirt these days during summer.
Skirts were totally impractical while she was mainly crawling, but now that she is on her feet more they are fine. I absolutley love a cloth MCN under a skirt or dress though - so cute

Lily is usually naked, lol.

We use dresses when we are going out, at home it is nothing or a bodysuit.
