Jack's 10mths and normally sleeps from 10 to 11 and 2 to 3. But everything (i.e. play group, mother's group, LLL, mainly music) all start at about 10/10.30am. So I usually have to go early and take Jack for a walk so he has a sleep and he ends up missing part of it.

Am I the only one with this problem? What do others do?

At the moment Lily goes down around 9-9.30 for her morning nap, but if she sleeps for an hour then it is too late to head off to these things, which is really annoying! Her jingles and jives starts at 11.15 and we only ned to leave around 11, so that is better.

it does make you wonder about why they start stuff when they do though.

We have this problem big time with swimming lessons. All of the slots of bubbas his age were all mid morning or mid afternoon. I mean how silly! Ours is at 1:50pm and Daniel usually goes down for his avo nap around 1:30 so this really doesn't work so he has a nana nap before hand and then sometimes goes down afterward but he's always really knackered by the evening.

Yep same here. I never really took Hannah to anything like that until she was one and only having an arvo sleep - just went to mums group type things where it didnt matter if she slept.

Yip have the same problem. Have found that a lot of things in our area starts around 9.30, but Ella goes down for her nap at 9. We have swimming lessons at 9.30 but I normally try and put her down for a small nap before the lessons so she doesn't get too tired. Figured once she gets a bit older we will be alright.

Hehe, a friend and I were just commenting on this the other day. Sam is 10 months as well and normally has her morning nap from 9.30 - 11.30 and all of our activities start somewhere in that time frame!!!
It is so annoying as I generally means she misses that sleep or only gets part of it and ends up grouchy for whatever activity we are doing!

Glad I am not the only one with these problems. Maybe the people who organise them haven't had kids or had them so long ago they have forgotten!

totally agree.. same with Reef when he started kindy.. they started afternoon kindy first.. and he was still having an afternoon sleep so got grumpy and OVERTIRED and fell asleep before dinner! bummer eh!
I didnt take my kids to anythign because I always preferred them to SLEEP!! ;)

When Hannah was 1, she slept from 11 to 12.30 and then 2-3, or something like that. I used to go to anything that started before 10 o'clock, and leave at 11 - so kinda stretched her out for those days.
