yep i did we had to take james to the hospital they srip bubs off from the wiast down and use a sonogragher (just like what they use to scan you when you preggy) they do move bubs legs around to get a good picture but all in all it takes around 20 mins you can stay in the room with bubs too hope this helps

Thanks for that. Thats what i wanted to hear. Just reasurance that it isnt going to hurt him really and i was wondering if it was a similar thing to what they scaned me with when preggy.

We had to get Jack scanned at 6 weeks and he was fine with it, he kept farting tho which was pretty funny, the sonographer thought he was going to poo all over her. Good luck for your scan.

Josh just had one a few weeks ago and he was fine he started crying when the guy was playing with his computer and not even touching him the guy was very confused hahaha but he come right again quickly i think it was more because we were all listening to him tell us about what he was looking for on the scan and josh wasnt the centre of attention

ok prepare in case they do like our one did - ella has had three now and each a different way...
they strip bubs, then velcro strap around waist, top of thighs and knees and you sit at foot and hold feet etc....or stand - depending on how they want to do it. One I had her mega strapped down and one just one strap....
NOW the chest xrays are another thing...you NEVER want to see your baby in a tube having one of those!
LOL what a year we have had. BTW are you having hip one cause of being breech? We got told CT scan was best (awesome people at Starship fitted us in for this instead of just an xray at one appt) to show up clicky hips early on. Lucky we dotn have them but breech bubba so had to check.

Josh was breech - Feet first and they just used ultrasound for his hip scan we only had to hold him still on his side and take off one side of the nappy at a time no strapping or anything like that.

No my bubs was not breech and so far everyone has been happy with his hips but because his father and aunt both had clicky hips the doctor wants to get his checked anyway. I guess we will just have to wait and see as to how they do it.

Caleb has been checked out for clicky hips due to a strong family history and he was X-rayed not scanned. The first visit was just a check for clicky hips, the second was an X-ray (although they'd told us earlier he'd be scanned) and we have a follow up in a couple of weeks as his hips will have finished forming.

jack had dislocated hips when he was born because he was breech. he had 1 x-ray and 1 ultrasound after wearing his body harness for 10wks. because of this, charli also had to get tested and she had the same, x-ray and ultrasound
good luck

Jack was born with clicky hips too and he only had the one scan while we held him down.
