Greer Aimee arrived at 12.46am - 8lb5. Aimee said she was only at the hospital for half an hour beforehand so no time for pain relief, but they are both doing well.

Well we came home this afernoon and all is going well - both girls fast asleep in bed! Wishful thinking that this will last
After 2 false starts on Friday and Saturday nights, by Sunday night I just thought it was more of the same and being a week before due date thought it would all stop in the morning again. Had been having contractions all day Sunday but nothing regular. Went to see midwife in the evening to get a sleeping tablet, she said have tea, then a bath and take your tablets. So Daniel headed out to a friends house I had a bath and got a couple of big contractions in there and just had to get out. Started pacing the floor and getting contractions every 3 mins. He got home about then (around 9.30pm) and was timing them for me but they went back to 10 mins when I wasn't standing so I took the tablets thinking it was over again. Woke up not long after with massive contractions one on top of the other, started crying cos I didnt think I could do it anymore and thinking it was false labour again. Rang the midwife who didnt seem very keen on meeting me at the hospital but agreed to, rang mum to come watch Hannah. Arrived at hospital at 12.15am and was so worried she was going to check and tell me I was only a few centimetres (thats what happened with Hans labour) to be told its defintiely the real thing and I was 9cm already!! 
Felt lots more confident this time in what I wanted to do, almost instinctively knew what to do, and had a better midwife. Knelt at the head of the bed and decided I needed to push and started doing that and she was out in about 3 or 4 contractions. It was amazing this time round, I could feel where she was coming down and knew she was just about there. Go gravity!! I am just so surprised at how much easier it was second time round to push her out (not the 1.5 hours like with Hannah). Anyway, half an hour after we arrived at the hopsital Greer Aimee was born. I got to lift her up off the bed first, there was nno rush on cutting the cord and we had skin to skin for about 40 mins before she was weighed etc. Total opposite to the old fashioned way the midwife did it last time. She latched on perfectly straight away and is feeding really well, even tho I feel like Dolly Parton at the moment!! Greer was 3790g (a bit over 8lb 5), which is only 20g heavier than Hannah was! Hannah is loving her little sister so far and is coping ok with it all. So thats my novel. Aimee I so agree second time around is so much better - you been there done that - not so stressed and like you I did the most of it at home and got to hospital around half hour before bubs was born. (oh and the bath set my contractions into over time too LOL)
