I was there in Sept 06 and they supplied me with:
Birth Rooms:
Hosptial gown for the birth and afterwards if I wanted it (snaps at the shoulders, no gap down the back like the traditional ones - great for breast feeding!)
Blankets for DD
Disposable nappy for DD
We brought our own clothing for her, not sure if they supply if needed?
Maternity pads for me
Flannel and towel etc. for shower afterwards
You can get ice in a cup etc. from the kitchen
Microwave to heat up wheat pack (you need to bring your own wheat pack)
There was a really old stereo in the room but we brought an ipod and DH somehow got it to run through it for music, but not sure about other rooms!
Ward:
Disposable nappies and cloth wipes for DD, and a container to fill up with water from the sink in the room at change times (this was on the ward)
Cloth flats for under her head in the bassinet, as spill cloths etc.
More hospital gowns if I wanted them
Towels etc. for showering
Maternity pads

Things are pretty much the same when I was there Oct 07. Dont recall a stereo in our birthroom, but we did arrive when I was 8 - 9 cm and I was pretty preoccupied. They did have some wee jacket/cardigan type things, but we also took clothes in.

No worries, good luck with the packing! Totally know what you mean about the mission, once you decide to do it, you want to get it done NOW.
It may have changed a little since 2006 but I haven't heard anything...perhaps in the delivery suites it is different as they are renovating, but who knows. You'll be able to refine your pack after your midwife visit, at least.

they are renovating and its horrible trying to get around!! i have to go up for fortnightly scans with these twins and i just get lost in a mass of work men who just seem to be wandering around and not actually doing much work!
df almost kicked me out of bed last night as i was lying there at 1am still going on about what i need for my bag.

DD is a short version for Dear Daughter/Darling Daughter etc. - I use it instead of my daughter's name (same as DS = dear son etc.). Just an overly paranoid mummy not wanting to put too many details on the net about my kid.
